Renamed the Disney Paradise Pier Hotel Anaheim in late 2000 after five years as the 'Disneyland Pacific Hotel,' the grounds reflect the grand seaside resorts of an earlier era, with beach ball-bright decor in the rooms, and features like the rooftop water slide. Slurpin' USA! provides poolside sandwiches and hot dogs, while Surfside Lounge serves the more sophisticated cocktail crowd. Make sure the kids are at breakfast in Disney's PCH Grill - you can often eat your waffles alongside animated heroes ranging from Stitch to Donald Duck. Indulge in the Mandara Spa at the Disney Grand Californian next door, but make sure you're back at the Paradise Pier pool deck by evening for the firework displays (selected nights).
Location
Disney's Paradise Pier overlooks the section of Disney California Adventure Park that shares its name, and recreates classic amusement park attractions. Access to nearby Downtown Disney is free for all, if you're up for live music on the lake at Disney West Side, or to browse the world's largest Disney Store. Located off the Santa Ana freeway in Anaheim, California, it's a short drive north to other theme parks like Knott's Berry Farm, and shuttles run from the Disney resorts to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and downtown Los Angeles.

Didn't have that Disney feel but was still nice

Having stayed at the Disney resorts in Florida I had high expectations for this hotel. While the hotel was nice and most of the staff nice, it seemed just like any other hotel, but much more expensive. The best thing about the hotel was the location... Walking distance to the parks and Downtown Disney, otherwise it was nothing special.

Fun place to stay at Disneyland Resort!

We enjoy the Paradise Pier Hotel while staying at Disneyland Resort, however we much prefer Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian. The staff and ambiance aren't on par with the other properties. That being said we love the beach theme, Surf Up's character breakfast, pool (it's small but well maintained and the waterslide is great), and location. The special hotel activities are especially fun - pool dance party in the afternoons, outdoor movies, and firework viewing on the outdoor viewing deck. The Sandbar poolside bar is especially lacking - the food choices are very limited and had been sitting around all day and the poolside service is very spotty. I look forward to a remodel of the lobby area - it's starting to get dated and shabby. The Cast Members need to step up their game - they are not comparable to the other resort hotels and did not provide the same level of service and Magic overall (some were great, like the valet CMs). This is a fun place to stay! But we'll always choose the DLH or Grand first.

Long lines for elevators

Convenient how close it's to Disneyland. Only complaint small elevators w/ long lines in morning and evenings when people are trying to go to or leave for the park. Can wait up to 15-30 minutes to get to your room at times.

Disappointed

For a Disney hotel, I was very disappointed. Although we paid for the convenience to the park with 2 children, getting up to the room was truly a test of patience...especially after walking the park for hours negating the proximity benefit. The room was OK. Staff was very polite and professional.

Family Fun

The room is nice and very comfortable. Great location and love the perks of staying on property. Staff was great! The pool is very small, but our kids loved the slide and it was never very crowded. My only complaint is there are only 4 small elevators and during peak times you can wait 15 minutes to catch one. That was a bit frustrating, but overall a great hotel and we would definitely stay again.

Family Vacation

This hotel is great! The room was big and just and the location is close to everything. We like to stay at the Disney hotels and will definitely return. The check in clerk was great and I think they upgraded us! Love this place!
