Get what you pay for

Being so close to Disneyland was perfect but the beds were sagging and lumpy.

Disappointing Experience

We stayed here in 2009 and had a different experience. It's amazing how this hotel has deteriorated in 3 years. We stayed in a standard room which had 2 queen beds, a small refrigerator, a 4 cup coffee pot , and an old TV. The beds have definitely seen better days. The remote for the tv didn't work and the picture on the tv fuzzy The hotel did bring a new remote and sent the maintenance man who jiggled the wires and turned the tv to the left to get a better picture. Of course this fix lasted about ten minutes and lasted the remainder of our trip. The next morning the coffee pot went out and that evening when we got home the refrigerator wasn't working. Thank goodness we brought an ice chest. The hotel did send a maintenance man, however, he couldn't speak a lick of English and we had a difficult time explaining the issue and he had a difficult time trying to tell us what was wrong. Not very good business practice to have an employee who is not able to communicate with their guest. The only good thing about this place is that it is about a ten minute walk to Disneyland.

Walking Distance to Disneyland

The place was easy to spot; it looks like a castle! It's within walking distance to Disneyland. I didn't time it, but probably took about 10 - 15 minutes to walk to the entrance of the park (and I'm counting the time waiting for the stoplights to change). There are restaurants nearby. The hotel has a little store across from the front desk area, and a small swimming pool near the parking lot. The hotel room is standard. There were two queen beds -- with the basic mattresses, pillows, and the cheap blanket and bedspread that is so common in the standard rooms. The A/C worked well. Water pressure in the shower was a little low. The walls are thick enough -- couldn't hear people next door showering or listening to the TV, but could hear car alarms and sometimes kids running down the hallway outside the room. The carpet is a little worn, and the TV is an older model, but we were only using the rooms to shower and sleep, so for us, it was clean, safe, and quiet, and close to food and Disneyland, so we were happy. The other patrons were friendly and polite. The hotel staff were welcoming and there were no delays in getting checked in and out. I would stay there again.

End of summer fun

The short distance to Disneyland was convenient! The kids enjoyed the atmosphere as they got to sleep in a "castle." Rooms were clean and comfortable - just what we needed after a long day at the park! We'll definitely stay here again!!

our stay at castle inn and suites

our experience and this hotel was mixed. Its a ten minute walk from your room to the front gate of Disneyland. This saved us from paying parking fees at the park and if the kids wanted to take a break from the magic kingdom and go swimming we could be in the pool within minutes. the hotel is also close to places to eat and shop, all within a easy walk. The rooms are roomy and comfortable and the air conditioner works great. The only complaint we have with the room is that the carpet seemed worn and in need of carpet cleaning. A microwave would have been nice as well. Our experience at the hotel was pretty good. Our only bad experience was that I left my cell phone in my room thinking it would be safe and it turned up missing when we returned to the room. The staff at the hotel were nice and helpful with everything except when it came to investigating the missing cell phone. However, I would recommend this hotel due to its location and comfort. They are also the only hotel in proximity to the park that does not charge a hefty parking fee. In fact the parking is free. The only things I would like to see different is for the hotel to provide a continental breakfast, especially if you are visiting with children. Also the pool seemed small to handle the number of guest wanting to use it and the water seemed to always be very warm and not cool and refreshing.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Travel north on Ketella Ave. and there is a little Italian restaraunt unkown to most travelers. There is very little advertisement for the restaraunt but if you ask locals they all know about it. It doesn't look much from the outside but is very warm and comfortable inside. They owners and workers treat you like family. The food is all fresh and homemade and delicious. Everything from awesome pizza to authentic italian food. Lots of dishes to choose from to satisfy all in your party. A quiet escape from the crowds and long lines at the park. Check it out. We go there every year when we go to Disneyland.

Average Hotel

Although this hotel was comfortable it was anything but average. One complaint I had was the bath tub, the drain was working properly. And the pool wasn't open late enough. But other than that it was a decency hotel. For the price I paid for it, it wasn't bad. The only other recommendation I have for the hotel is to update their decor.
