Honeymoon at the Anabella
Rick-N-Kelli Dec 6, 2009
The Annabella was great. The staff was nice. I've worked for the guest services department of a Waikiki beach front hotel ... for 8 years and know that the Annabella staff provided us great service. The room was not the most quietest, but we expected that considering the other reviews that we read. Our room may have been a bit noisier because it was located across the housekeeping storage room and with our windows open for air circulation, it's like people are talking or shuffling around inside our room.

Trisha Dec 3, 2009
The check in went well, however my husband and I have no officially made a new rule whenever checking into a hotel - test ... EVERYTHING before unpacking!!! The mattress was too hard and it was starting to have two "sink holes" in the mattress from other couples lying in it. The heater was spewing out black soot-like material (which happened to us our last stay, but we figured this was a fluke - guess not). The heater kept turning on and off throughout the night and making a popping noise that kept us up. We tried to set it so the fan would just stay on, hoping the white noise would block the popping sounds, but turns out you can only either have the heater or the fan on - not both. We had to make a choice to either stay awake from freezing or from the noisy heater. Furthermore, the shower was not working right. When you lift the plunger to redirect the water flow from the tub to the shower, most of the water was going into the tub (and that water was much warmer than the trickle coming out of the shower). The toilet also kept running and the faucet in the sink was loose. Only good thing to say was the staff was nice. It's obvious, though, that these rooms are not being properly maintained. Needless to say our sleepless night ruined our trip to Disneyland. I've never been happier to come back home!

We spent our day's at disneyland but my husband stayed in one day to relax and watch the football game's on the nice flat ... screen t.v. that is on the wall so you feel like your at home. The king bed was nice. Shower head was a large one so you did not feel like you had to shrink down to rinse your hair. waiter we had for breakfast was so polite.the only thing we did find was the hostess would take awhile to seat us.This is our second time staying here we recommended it to friends and family.

Nice room with cozy beds!
The Grand Duchess Dec 2, 2009
We booked this hotel about 3 weeks before our trip mostly because of it's location close to Disneyland. When we arrived we ... were greeted by exceptionally friendly staff who told us up front of the $10+tax per day parking charge that other reviewers hadn't been told about. When we got to our room, it was lovely and slightly larger that we had expected. Everything was clean and bright and the comforters were extremely cozy. Of the 3 nights we spent there, I have only two complaints. Our room was in a corner near the housekeeping storage cart area so an afternoon nap was interrupted by the housekeeping staff going in and out of their work area, but it was not the end of the world. The second had to do with a crying baby in the early morning hours, which clearly, the hotel had nothing to do with. The hotel is a little over half mile walk to Disneyland, which was fine with us as the sidewalks are well lighted and the crosswalks allow enough time to get across the multi-lane streets. The hotel also had a security guard that we saw walking the parking lot at night when we came back from Disneyland, which made us feel assured that we were safe, and so were our belongings. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance, so we never ventured into the hotel restaurant. Check out was a breeze and again the staff was really kind. We had a great stay and will stay at the Anabella Hotel again on our next visit!

This was one of our many family trips. This hotel was at an awesome location (just walking distance to Disneyland) and the ... price was unbelievable. Rooms was very clean and I loved the wood floors. Staff was very friendly and I also had an upgrade on my room at no additional charge. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my family & friends.

Nice Room, Some unprofessional staff
Uncanny resemblance Nov 11, 2009
I arrived at the Annabella Hotel on a Saturday Morning at 10am for a 3 night stay in the concierge level room , I was very ... pleased that I was able to pre-check in and just picked up my room key when returning to the hotel that evening. The room was very nice and the beds was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced at a hotel. The Restaurant was just ok, we had breakfast there, which came to 50 dollars and the portions were very small. On the 2nd morning I was there I happened to check my bank balance and noticed an additional $150 hold on my account in addition to the $100 dollars that was held at check in. I called the front desk and asked why I had this hold and she replied that it was due to the $140 dollars I had charged to my room at the restaurant the night before, I informed her that I had not eaten there that night and that there was a mistake, she said "i'll have to call the restaurant and check it out, I'll call you back." About 10 minutes later she called me back and said "Ok I talked to the restaurant they accidently charged it to your room, come to the front desk and I'll reverse the hold" (Please not the absence of any apologies) I went to the front desk and was on the phone with my bank for about 20 minutes going back and forth on the phone between the front desk clerk and myself. The bank was able to reverse the hold and I hung up the phone and handed it back to the front desk clerk. There was a moment of awkward silence when I asked "At the very least is there anyway you can waive my parking charges for the next 3 days for this inconvenience?" She had a very puzzled look on her face and said"Well I might be able to do 1 night, but I mean, the hold was taken away.." I replied " I realize that and am glad, but Im upset that this happened in the first place, I ate in the restaurant the morning I arrived and they asked for a name in addition to the room number, $140 should never have been charged to me, its a pretty big over sight and had I not checked my bank this morning I night have incurred overdraft charges" Her reply was "Well the restaurant is separate from the hotel, that's why I had to call them to verify, the hold was taken off . ." She paused and looked to the woman to her left like she was the one doing me a favor and that my request was ridiculous. I said " So a one night parking fee totaling 10 dollars is all your willing to give me (which I had to ask for)" She did not reply but just kept looking at the woman working next to her like I was being a total witch. I was pretty upset and already late to get to Disneyland so I just said "Thank you" and left. Again it seemed like she thought that she was doing me a favor by getting the hold taken off and at no point was apologetic for the situation. I just felt like it all was handled very unprofessionally. I'm not a person who is always looking to get something free, I actually would have preferred her being apologetic and courteous as apposed to getting some free parking. Oh and I failed to mention that this fiasco happened on the morning of my birthday. All in all I would say I enjoyed the Hotel room itself, but not the staff or restaurant.
