Good Value

Friendly and helpful staff. The location is out of the way but the surroundings are pleasant. The rooms are clean, a tad bit warn, but clean. Good value. My favorite place to stay if rooms are available.

Quaint, nice location, peaceful on the water,

The location on the water right next to downtown Oakland but happily not in Oakland makes it peaceful and ideal, there is a large grocery store, " Lucky " nearby within 10 mins walking or a very short drive. There is a Chinese ,Vietnamese and a Burrito restaurant at the same local as the grocery. As reported by others the wifi did not work in my room and I went to the small but comfortable hotel lobby when I wanted to use my iPad. Yes morning complimentary breakfast is limited to three types of cereal and some plain bagels with fake butter and jelly, coffee and fake milk, "artificial creamer" but it was clean and for the price and location the offerings were fair. I have stayed in countless hotels and have yet to be impressed with a complimentary breakfast. The heater in room 125 squealed like a stuck pig and was therefore unusable, however the room was only a bit cool, not really cold. I was very happy with the room itself as it had a clean modern microwave, fridge and small coffee maker. The king sized bed was comfortable as were the squishy pillows. I really liked entering my room from my own patio through a clean modern glass door and the room itself had a clean modern feel. I would like to see more than one person at the check in counter as they are only able to process one person at a time which slowed down my check in and check out. Overall I would go back, I liked having the water and all the beautiful boats so just steps from my room. With just a little improvement the place could be just perfect.

Nice view of the marina, located in residential area.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Bed was uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was very limited. We spent one night before leaving from Oakland Airport and week later another night when we returned from our vacation. The shower did not work - not water in shower - in the unit we stayed the second night. The staff let us use another unit to take showers. We were able to leave our car on they parking lot for a week at no extra charge which was very convenient for us. No shuttle to the airport. We took a taxi.

House keeping problem

Sometimes they come to clean room, sometimes not. They do not provide 24 hours house keeping service and they does not delivery anything to you. Otherwise, the room shaked every day...feels like earthquake.. I don't know why.

Well - Its near a Marina

Checkin - tough, asked for a ground level room, no elevator. Got a 2nd level room. Room - next to a Yacht Club which blast music. Bed - It had 2 mats as pillows Wifi - Couldn't find the network or access point had to go to the lobby to use my computer along with 5 other people. It was close to the Marina which was nice - though there are no food location to eat nearby - unless you belong to a yacht club. Overall a 2 at best - not bad - not good.

Good value

The front desk clerk was simply wonderful. The hotel room was nice (not over the top but nice) and a good value for the rate paid. Out of the way location, it was fine. I'd stay there again.

San Francisco vacation

The location is lovely by the marina. Parking was convinient. The front desk staff was cordial. We did get quite a suprise when we got into our room and the room began to rumble non-stop! I knew it was not an earthquake and the rumbling lasted for 10 minutes without stopping. I went downstairs and they said, "Opps!" The housekeeping washing machine or dryer was not suppose to be on and it was shaking the rooms upstairs. They gave me an even nicer room. One my last day there, I made sure I did not have the "Do not disturb" sign up. Housekeeping never cleaned my room and we were out the whole day until 10:00 at night. We had no clean towels or cups and the room needed cleaning! It was too late at night to get it cleaned. We just asked the front desk for some clean cups and towels to take upstairs. We left the dirty dishes and towels in corners of the room. Ugh. We will not stay there again. I have never had a bad experience in a hotel like this.

Nice place for your budget trip

Stayed here for a local workshop and was happy to find I could walk daily to and from the hotel to my meetings, it was so close. Super quiet location on the water and nestled behind commercial office lots (that are mostly empty), so got great sleep! Yes, it's a very average building/amenities, so not a luxurious getaway, but it was nice and clean while I was there, nice central seating area for the continental breakfast, and staff was helpful and non-intrusive (if a little overworked). Close to grocery and restaurants too if needed (which it very well was in my case). Fridge and microwave in room was handy to have! Short commute by car to Oakland Int airport (I think about 20 min).
