Too Much for Average
We booked through Orbitz at the last minute, so the rate wasn't the best. I feel like the average-ness of this motel really should be reflected in the nightly rate. Other than that the room was very clean and the night shift desk girl was very polite & helpful. I fail to understand why there would be 2 Motel 6's one block apart. Our GPS sent us to the 1st one where we were told our reservation was at the Motel 1 block away. So over we went-watch those one way streets! Motel 6 also must have gotten a deal on flat pillows-every Motel 6 we have stayed in this year has had pillows that are so flat I wonder if they are really pillows at all. The room was clean, and, as expected, no frills or extra comforts. Look for the pool in a separate building-but we didn't stay long enough to provide any review of that area.

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
If you want to see the Grand Canyon for more than 1 day, this Motel is too far away for a comfortable drive between days-it's nearly a 1 hour drive each way! I'd suggest paying the extra and staying at the National Park if possible.

Nice for the Price
Wanted a lower level room so one of the only ones available was buy pool in back of hotel...It was extremely NOISEY, as you could hear everyone going up and down the stairs to the upper level of hotel...obviously, not very well insulated...otherwise room was okay...would have been nice to have a coffee maker in rooms and they did not supply shampoos or such!!! Could not get our laptop connected to their internet either....oh well, was just passing through anyway!!

Sometimes Less is More
Our family stayed in the hotel on a trip to ride the Grand Canyon Railway Polar Express. The hotel seemed clean, but the rooms were very simple. There was not an alarm clock, hair dryer, or other items that are commonly found in many hotel rooms. However, the price was well worth going without those few ammenities for a night. The staff was friendly and the rooms were quiet. There was nothing really to complain about.

Good Value
Friendly staff, spacious rooms. TV/channels didn't work so great and there was no clock in the room and they were unable to locate one (they said there was supposed to be clocks in the room). They did have coffee in the AM, but not available in room or any other beverages or breakfast. Travel items in vending machines seemed pricey (ie shampoo, razor), as there was only bar soap in the room. Coin laundry was available and that was nice.

Not the best hotel.
I would suggest a room on the top level. There is not much sound proof between floors and it was extremely noisy.

Hard to sleep
The hotel room was clean! That is about where it stopped. The pool was dirty and the whole pool area smelled bad. Even my kids when asked if they wanted to go to the pool said "No it's Yucky"! They are 5 and 7 so you would figure they would love to. Nope! We heard the baby next door and the 4 dogs above us about 3 or 4 times thoughout the night. Not very good sleep! Also, there is no alarm clock in the room. And that's about all I have to say about that!

Try Village pizza if that's what you like. If you are doing the Polar Express train try to get C and D seats.

Just a place to lay your head
Our room was not clean. The floor was wet and stained in some places. Dogs barked at all hours. It just was not a good experience.
