Big room, clean and simple

The room is big and very comfortable. They provide just the basics but that keeps the price down. You'll need to bring (or buy) your own clock, Kleenex, etc. The pool is indoors only - we had weather which would have been nice for an outdoor pool.

Many good places to eat and shop in "downtown" Williams, which is only a few blocks away. We recommend Grand Canyon Coffee & Café, by the corner of Rt 66 and Grand Canyon Blvd.

Decent motel for the price

Overnight stay during Bearizona , Flagstaff, and Grand Canyon adventures. It was a decent place to crash for the night. We weren't there to spend time in the motel, so we weren't looking for anything extra in the way of amenities.

Grand Canyon Visit

We were a bit apprehensive when we first drove up. This is an "old school" motel where you park in front of your room (or very close to it), and still use a metal key instead of a magnetic key card. But we had seen good reviews online and we were NOT disappointed! This place is a wonderful little jewel! It was clean, comfortable, very well maintained, and very competitively priced. ANYTIME we have to say in or near Albuquerque, we will stay here!

Church Street Cafe - ask the staff at your Motel - that's how we found out! It's WONDERFUL food! Very quaint.

good motel 6

This one is a good motel 6, better than most motels I stayed in in this price area. Spacious rooms and great location for a trip to the grand canyon. Takes about an hour to get there.

One of the better, for a Motel 6

The staff was friendly. The room was clean. Nothing fancy, just a clean, quiet nights sleep.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Everything you need is right there. Safeway foods, and Dairy Queen are a short walk. If you have time you get a nice bang for your $20.00 bucks at Bearizona.

Impressed!

I'm always leery of low fares but this hotel was very impressive for the price. Very basic but the room was spacious, clean and well-kept. Would stay there again.

Grand Canyon Visit

Stayed here and commuted to the Grand Canyon - about 1 hours. The room was very average - clean - but the rug was all rumpled (as in not pulled taut) and the floor under the bathtub squeaked. The staff were friendly, but resources were limited. We asked for shampoo (having traveled without liquids on the plane) and they could not provide any. Ended up buying a large bottle at the Dollar General next door and leaving it (too large for plane). Unlike some of the other hotels in town, there is no place to sit outside - it is essentially a clean bed and shower -that's it. Williams is what I imagine a typical small western town - nothing fancy- but the people are very friendly. One note if you choose this hotel - there are 2 Motel 6s in Williams, kitty corner from each other on opposite sides of the road. We initially went to the wrong one.

Too Much for Average

We booked through Orbitz at the last minute, so the rate wasn't the best. I feel like the average-ness of this motel really should be reflected in the nightly rate. Other than that the room was very clean and the night shift desk girl was very polite & helpful. I fail to understand why there would be 2 Motel 6's one block apart. Our GPS sent us to the 1st one where we were told our reservation was at the Motel 1 block away. So over we went-watch those one way streets! Motel 6 also must have gotten a deal on flat pillows-every Motel 6 we have stayed in this year has had pillows that are so flat I wonder if they are really pillows at all. The room was clean, and, as expected, no frills or extra comforts. Look for the pool in a separate building-but we didn't stay long enough to provide any review of that area.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you want to see the Grand Canyon for more than 1 day, this Motel is too far away for a comfortable drive between days-it's nearly a 1 hour drive each way! I'd suggest paying the extra and staying at the National Park if possible.

Nice for the Price

Wanted a lower level room so one of the only ones available was buy pool in back of hotel...It was extremely NOISEY, as you could hear everyone going up and down the stairs to the upper level of hotel...obviously, not very well insulated...otherwise room was okay...would have been nice to have a coffee maker in rooms and they did not supply shampoos or such!!! Could not get our laptop connected to their internet either....oh well, was just passing through anyway!!
