Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff
I was in Tuscon for the Gem Show, so the location was perfect for me. I visited show sites down town and then stayed the night at the Windmill so I could visit show sites on the north side of town before returning home. The room was very clean and comfortable, and all of the staff were friendly and seemed to have a vested interest in our comfort and satisfaction with our stay. The breakfast included sausage, eggs, and waffles in addition to bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereals, and coffee. The food was hot and it was good. I recommend this hotel and will stay there again when I'm in Tuscon.

I became a frequent visitor
This hotel was a wonderful value for the money. The room was roomy, clean and well supplied. The pool and amenities were well cared for. The free breakfast was more than sufficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant in the facility but there are many to choose from in the area. The hotel is within a short drive of U of A. They really live up to their philosophy of customer satisfaction! I joined the frequent visitor club before I left because I know I will go back.

great location
It was perfect from beginning to end. The staff was more than accomadating and friendly. The bedroom suite was clean and, beds very comfortable. It is located in the back of a small upscale strip mall close to Trader Joe's and many restaurants including PF Changs which had delicious oriental food. We had a pool side location with a patio outside our door to relax. The breakfast was more than a typical continental breakfast. We had eggs and made our own waffles. I highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and convenient
We chose this property because of its location at St. Philips Plaza. Old school fixtures, tv, but clean, friendly staff. Good mattresses! Across the parking lot burton Vivace, IMHO one of the world's best Italian restaurants.

Nice hotel!
My brother, sister and I had come from different parts of the country to visit a relative and the hotel was very accomodating in getting us rooms next to one another, even giving free upgrades w access to the pool! It would have been nice to have bottled water in the rooms but staff was friendly which is always a wonderful thing.

Windmill suites in Tucson, Az.
The hotel was very clean and offered a great breakfast every morning. It is in a great location - there are restaurants in a pretty small mall right where it is located. Definitely eat at the Pizzeria next door. The service was OK - I did not find the receptionist very polite but overall, the hotel is a pleasant, confortable and clean place to stay.

Nice location, nice suite layout
This is an above-average hotel in terms of the location near the foothills, with nice layout of the suites--bedroom, living room, kitchenette, walk-thru bath. It's an older property but very well maintained, one of the cleanest I've ever seen (even in the stairways). Friendly staff who thoughtfully placed us in a suite away from all the commotion of the Gem Show exhibits in common areas. The furnishings while a bit maybe 70s in style look new in terms of lack of wear. I thought the room amenities were average though, and the breakfast options offered were a bit substandard for most of the mid-range type places we usually stay.

Short drive from hotel
The St. Phillips area, which is a walk across the parking lot away, seems to have lost some tenants and there really is only a very limited amount of high-end eating or retail options there. Best plan to drive either farther north up the street a little ways, or down to the south on Campbell a couple miles to the shopping and eating spots. We chose to go south a ways to the Lovin Spoonful, which was an EXCELLENT vegetarian spot for dinner, and had an EXCELLENT lunch the next day at Beyond Bread, in the same area.
