The resort looks nice ...
The resort looks nice enough pulling as one drives up. We got there about 2:30 and had to wait until 4 to check in. While we waited we had $7.50 (each) drinks from the bar on the patio. When we got to the our room, we had to walk quite a ways from the parking lot to the room. The room was nice enough but it felt like a prison cell. There was a beautiful view of the valley but no patio...very claustrophobic for us. No place to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather (monsoons in August), views or night sky. No breakfast is served. There was a frig & microwave so we drove to town and got our own breakfast the other days. What we spent in gas & time to drive somewhere else made the whole experience not worth what we saved on the room.

Room Service
In the suites I stayed there was no room service available. Getting something to eat was a task. Also, the internet service was down and wasn't fixed for the time I spent at the resort.Making, doing business very difficult without having to leave the room. Very disappointed!!

Exceptional Service!
The setting was beautiful and the free shuttle and ability to use the facilities of the Marriot Resort made this a nice destination. The grounds were well maintained and full of native plants. We saw javalina outside our casita one morning and coyotes while on our way up to the Marriot..The staff exceeded our expectations in every way. If we requested extra towels they were at our room before we hung up with the front desk. The casita we stayed in was very disappointing. We stayed in a room that was not updated with 2 beds, a small table with 3 chairs, a small tv, a mini fridge and microwave. There was a small window which did not provide enough natural light. The bathroom was also outdated. I would rate the room 2 star at best which is too bad since the rest of the resort was outstanding and 4-5 star in my opinion. I did not ask about other rooms and perhaps they have updated rooms.

The food at Starr Pass was outstanding. They have an excellent sports bar with a great menu. We ate there one evening and ordered food poolside two afternoons. We enjoyed the Starbucks coffee also both at our resort and at the Marriot up the hill. The view and atmosphere at the Marriot in the evening was second to none.

Certainly not "plush" but comfortable. Our casita was a long walk from the pool. You could drive but with the walk to/from the car it was a hike no matter how you got there.(we're lazy) To get the best deal on golf they suggested I go online though a broker. Seemed kinda awkward since we were staying right there. Course was great, narrow but fun.

Early check-out
Arrived late and did not have chance to see the facilities because the front desk called at 10:30 to inform me check-out was at 10:00 a.m.. Booking told me check-out was noon. Very circuitous roads to get to hotel and inconvenient unload then park 1/2 block away to walk back to room.

Four Starr - excellent service
The room was very comfortable and well worth the money and I had read before my visit about how thin the walls were between the rooms - and it proved to be an accurate assesment. I could hear my neighbors television throughout the night and was a little distrubed by that. But the staff and room were excellent and the noise was not worth complaining to management about. Great views and attentive staff made my stay pleasant and relaxing - I believe I made a great choice by staying at Starr Pass. I arrived at night and it was a little difficult to find the place but once I did I was not disappointed.

Very friendly
The Starr Pass hotel was very nice, but I was really surprise that my hotel suite was not cleaned for me every day. Thank goodness that I am a very clean and neat person, it's just that I ddidn't like that fact I had to come into a room with my bed not made or fresh towels.

Great Hotel for Golf Vacation
My experience with the Starr Pass Suites in Tucson was very positive. It is adjacent to the golf course and only 5 minutes away from the freeway, restaurants, etc. The room was large, appropriately furnished and equipped with microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. It was clean and modern, with good overall maintenance. My only disappointment was that there was no real restaurant for breakfast, only a snack bar for the golfers. Nice restaurant serving lunch and dinner is on site.

Quiet Get a way
Our flight was late arriving due to weather in NEwark and if we hadn't accidentally gone to the Marriott, it would have been difficult to get into our room as the Club HOuse closes at 11:00 PM - they had staff take us over and meet the night guard who had our key. Room was very comfortable, we loved the bed. Bathroom was a nice size with a long counter for make-up, etc. Pool was really great, fitness room had just what it needed for a good work out. Jacuzzi was nice however, it wasn't always cleaned up (leaves, etc.). We were a jitney ride away from the JW Marriott, this added two restaurants to choose from. Food was excellent in both hotels,as was the service. They were lacking as far as informing you of events (we missed a great concert at the Casino which we also didn't know they had). They seem not to keep brochures out, if you don't ask you don't know. The staff informed us of this when we discussed it, its kept in a box behind the desk. In hindsight we should have rented a car, we did finally get someone to take us around who was absolutely wonderful, reasonable and knowledgeable.

City is 15 minutes away, however, everything is spread out and their tourism needs a few boosts. Our local tour guide told us they keep having meetings to get them up to snuff. Area is just beautiful.

Nice getaway
The room was fine since we didn't want to spend too much. We got the "B" side room which was smaller than "A", but ok for us for a 3 night stay. If you plan to stay longer, the larger room would be better. The room walls are extremely thin, and you can hear nearly anything that the neighbor says but we didn't have any neighbor for most of our stay. The pool is terrific and the grounds are beautiful.
