Websites can deceive

The website noted a restaurant/bar. We were told that it had been closed for over a year. The breakfast was stale bread and dry cereal. The coffee was undrinkable. The room was marginal; toilet dirty. Housekeeping needs some training. We had to call twice to get a shuttle from the airport (3 miles) and it took 45 minutes. All in all, not a good experience. However, the flights were great and I really appreciate notifications and the fact that I could print our boarding passes.

Good value for an overnighter.

If you need a place to stay for one night in Tucson at a reasonable price this is a good one. Particularly if you need to catch a flight in morning. This hotel is only about a 3 to 4 mile straight shot to the airport with light traffic. This hotel really doesn't have much to offer outside of a place to rack out for the night but it is inexpensive in comparison to many hotels close to the airport. The rooms are sufficiently sized and have a small refrigerator, microwave and cable TV. The environmental control worked very well. There was a room safe but it was not attached to anything so anyone could have picked it up and walked away with it. In my case that wouldn't have been necessary since the door would not latch closed. The water pressure in the shower left a bit to be desired but it was still sufficient. There was a continental style breakfast included but I checked out too early to take advantage of it. I noticed when I was leaving that the hotel has roving security. There are many convenience stores, restaurants and grocery stores very close. I'll be staying there again very soon but, again, it will only be a one night stay. If you have a larger budget and like amenities I would recommend looking elsewhere for anything more than a one night stay.

Good for the price.

The room was clean. Price included an okay breakfast. They had no eggs or bacon but had cereal and oatmeal. WI-FI was free but most of the time very slow. I switched rooms to bottom level but internet got worse. For some reason the internet signal was better on second floor. The 2 rooms I stayed in were very clean and the staff were very nice. The dryer in the laundry room was not working well but overall I would say it is a good value. I saved almost 50% booking online...

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you don't mind walking up stairs get a room on the second floor. The internet signal was much better up there. Accessing internet while doing laundry was good strong signal too...

A place to avoid !!

The first room we were assighned was so dirty and in such poor repair that we refused it. After checking three other rooms we settled for one that was marginally clean even though it had no towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. At 4:00 P.M. there was no staff available to provide these items, but the desk clerk agreed to provide them if we went there to pick the items up. In this room the towel shelves were falling off the wall, several light bulbs were burned out, the sink plug did not operate, the tiolet constantly flushed, the TV remote had no batteries, the window was filthy, the room had no refridgerator and the only ice machine was accross the street in annother building, etc, but it was the best room the staff made available to us and since we had pre paid we had no choice to take it. Additionally, the courtyard was inhabited by pigions who left their dropings on the walls, tables, chairs, walkways, stairs, etc. There was no apparent attempt to clean this mess up. We knew that we were booking into an older hotel and did not expect Hilton standards, but we did expect that the facility would be properly clean, properly maintained, and properly staffed. It was not!!

The staff was much more impressive

To get to the hotel room I had to walk through a security gate which made me wonder how safe it was to stay there. The hotel is a bit older. The ceiling in the bathroom and near the window had water stains that should probably be worked on and their was a chain lock on the door. There were 3 lamps in the room but only one worked. So a few little things to fix the place up should be make it a bit better. Because it was Christmas everything around was closed. I had asked if they had room service as I was hungry but they did not. Hungry with no transportation the maintenance man was kind enough to spend about a half hour of his time driving me around. We finally found a Walgreens where I was able to buy a microwaveable dinner. He was very kind and I appreciated his help. All in all, it was ok. Maybe summer time would be better.

Palo Verde Inn

I would not stay there again. The entire place reeks of very disgusting odor cover ups. I had numeroud issues with the WI-FI. The room was not cleaned on two days. They shorted meon towels. The only reason I stayed is that I had already paid for it. Overall it was digusting!

Rooms ok, services not

I stayed for one week and liked it. The room was large and clean and quiet. Breakfast was only toast or corn flakes, but a McDonalds was across the street. WIFI did not work.
