Dump in the Desert

The bad: Moldy shower head & tile grout, filthy black air vent covers, sharp metal pins in carpet, broken patio furniture, excessively low bathroom counter/sink, outdated hideous decor, no guest services available at night, etc. The good: watching the house gecko lizards run in & out of the holes in the water damaged balcony ceiling. We definitely won't stay here again at any any price!

Staff caters well without getting in your face. Any issues were taken care of immediately like you were the only guest there. Very relaxing atmosphere. If you want the depth of a hotel, you can walk on the paths to the Loew's hotel sharing the same property.

Weekender

We rented three rooms for our family to celebrate my wife's birthday. The suites were very large and accommodating, two were connecting and they gave us three next to one another which made it very nice Sunday brunch was excellent. Great service by the staff too. Rooms are a little dated, but size spacious and great.

Beautiful Surroundings

Ventana Canyon Lodge is in a beautiful location, but it's about 45 minutes from the airport. Also, it's a country club that also happens to be a hotel, so everything closes at 9 p.m.. No bar, room service, or restaurant. The rooms were gorgeous and roomy and the wait staff was super helpful.

Very Nice

My husband and I are ordinary working folks, we ran across this resort (very near the area of town we wanted to visit) and when they lowered the price we decided to splurge and give it a try. Very beautiful room, surroundings, and the staff was very nice. [...]

Terrific Hotel

This is our favorite hotel in Ventana Canyon in Tucson. My husband and I have been staying here at least twice a year since 2008. The rooms are large and comfortable with kitchens and room service. Rooms with views and light are particularly nice. The service is Outstanding and the golf is superb. We brought friends with us this time and they have already booked their next trip.

Service was lacking

Had to argue to get a room that was not right over the bar, which was loud with patrons. We were told to close the door to get rid of the noise! There is an automatic charge of $24.00 once you get there, which is supposed to be for gratuities. Then it was like pulling teeth to get the valet to help us put our luggage in the car, when we were leaving. We asked about 3 times! There was no one else around so they weren't busy. they just stood there looking at us. They helped themselves to an automatic 20% gratuity for dinner. It was already on the bill when we got it.
