Home Away

Would recommend Thu, Nov 5, 2015
We travel to Tucson 2-3 times a year and have been looking for a hotel we would like to use regularly for some time. We believe La Posada is that place. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and quiet (even though it faced the street). Great balcony views out back. La Posada is located just far enough north on Oracle to avoid the worst of rush hour traffic but still within easy driving distance of central downtown. The staff was courteous and efficient. The only hiccup in our stay was erratic TV signal (DirectTV) on Sunday night and a complete loss of signal on Monday. Otherwise, our stay was perfect!

Would Stay Again... but could use a makeover

Would recommend Tue, Oct 6, 2015
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. First, I'd like to say that what this hotel has going for it, is an exceptional front desk, maintenance, and breakfast staff. They went above and beyond when it comes to friendliness, and being eager to make things better. That being said, I almost left within 15 minutes of being there. After dragging all of my luggage and my 20 month old girl down to the bottom floor by myself, I started to notice a smell... Oh no, is that smoke, UGH. I started looking around, and noticed ash trays on every single table. I'm sensitive to smoke, and I don't like my toddler being around it. She has breathing issues. I got into the room, and the room smelled like smoke. I called up to the front desk, and explained the issue. He immediately offered me to try another room, and I hesitantly accepted. The other room did not smell like smoke. It was on the middle floor, facing the street, so I think that helped. It also had tile flooring, so that was a perk. However, I did notice a musty smell. Upon close inspection, there was a ton of dirt/dust/mold in the AC vent. I called the front desk, and asked them to send the maintenance guy. He was in my room quickly, and was very helpful. He took the entire thing out, and wheeled it out of the room. He agreed that it needed cleaning, and brought it back much cleaner 30 minutes later. The air worked so much better, and the room smelled fresh. My final main complaint was that the pool was not being cleaned to the standards I'm used to staying in hotels. There was a layer of gunk all along the tiles lining the edge of the water. The actual water was relatively well kept, and I LOVED that it was a salt water pool. However, the tiles were pretty gross. I mentioned it to the front desk, and they were working on it the next day. I wouldn't have even bothered saying anything, but I'd like to see these improvements, so my family would feel comfortable staying there regularly. In spite of these issues, for the money, I think it was actually quite a find. I stayed there for nearly a week. The breakfast on most of the days was very good. The room was actually quite quiet, which is a pretty big deal. If I were management, I'd have a cleaning party scheduled on a regular basis, to really get that property fixed up to the level it can be. Hotel rooms shouldn't get dusty or moldy, and pools should be getting checked and cleaned out throughout the day. I'd really love it if they made most of the property non smoking, and perhaps just allowing it in one area, if necessary. I hated that people could smoke by the pool, on the patio, pretty much anywhere other than inside the room. This might be a perk for a smoker, but was certainly not for this mom.

Beautiful Property, Great Value!

Would recommend Mon, Apr 6, 2015
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Posita Lodge and Cottages! The staff was delightful and helpful in every way! The morning breakfasts fueled our days. The salt water pool created great memories for our family - our kids are teen - young adult. The balcony overseeing the grounds was so peaceful and beautiful - and gave wonder views of the 4th of July city fireworks all across the valley. The only negative was that there was no fan in the bathroom and window was in the shower and faced the walkway. Curious placement...

Received amazing service from the front desk. They gave a more convenient room for our kids on the first floor so we did have to carry too many items inside. Staying again on our next visit for sure!

Disappointed !!

Would not recommend Mon, Feb 9, 2015
Stayed last yr. was very happy- this yr. very disappointed ! Our room was the furthest room down the hall on the 3rd floor- was told I could see the pool- I saw roof tops. The outside light was out until I complained about it. I was told the next day we could change room on the 2nd floor- they let me look at 2 rooms which I picked one and was given key for- so we loaded our luggage and drove around all day with us to come back to the room they said we had and couldn't get in the room- went to desk and was told we didn't have that room we had to go back to the we on the 3rd floor- so we dragged everything back to that room. Then the tv had no local channels so we complained and was told they'd fix it during day- came back that evening tv still not working-a guy fixed it in 5 min. Everyone blamed the other person! Waffle maker -no syrup after the first day-was told they have honey- don't like honey! Very disappointed don't think Ill go back. Good maybe for a business person alone!

Gorgeous view

Stayed two nights to be close to the Catalina Mountains on my way down to Tucson from the Phoenix airport. Enjoyed the beautiful view from balcony, hot tub, great food at the restaurant, and proximity to Sabino Canyon and Tohono Chul park. Charming rooms and pretty landscaping enhanced the overall wonderful experience.

POOR SERVICE AND VERY DIRTY

Would not recommend Tue, Dec 30, 2014
We had reservations for a Casita and got a room. Very disapointed. The bar area was not cleaned in the 3 days we were there. The same paper napkins were on the floor all 3 days. Our first night we dined in the restaurant and waited over 30 minutes for our dinner and over 20 minutes for desert which we cancelled due to POOR SERVICE & time. Willl NOT stay here again.
