The Best Hotel Staff

The Double Tree by Reid Park is a very good hotel with a great location, solid immenities and an amazing group of people working there. The Hotel bar had the single best bartenders I've seen in a long time that were personable, mixed drinks will and knew exactly how to make everyone smiling.

Tucson Double Tree

My first disappointment was that this room was not a suite. Not a typical Doubletree set up with sitting room and kitchenette. Only a coffeee maker in the room. Room had one small chair and two beds. Second disapppointment, hair in the bathroom sink and a cleaning bottle left behind. Third, room did not include breakfast as usual at Doubletree. Fourth, stayed two nihghts; when returned from hike on seconde day at 4:30PM, room not cleaned. Maids came by shortly after we returned and we got a clean towel.

Nice room, weird hotel configuration

Beautiful room, spacious, clean, wonderful bed and marble bathroom...the odd layout was a surprise, esp. at night arrival. There's a main hotel with registration area, bar, restaurant, and hotel tower, then there are 'arms' with two floors that extend outward, with only stair access and difficult to find your way around. Bottom line: request main hotel tower with elevator and easy access to bar & restaurant. Airport shuttle on the hour only.

OK... Nothing more

The staff at the hotel were were friendly and welcoming. And the lobby area is beautiful. But the room itself was sort of run down. The dresser didn't close correctly... I had to shove it really hard to keep the drawer closed. The signal on the television was truly awful and would freeze frequently. There was a nice walk-in shower. And the fitness center was pretty clean and had good equipment. It got a little noisy at night. Overall, it was just OK.

beautiful views in convenient location

This site is in a neighborhood across the street from a golf course, park wtih running course and a zoo. What more can you ask for? And upper floors have great view to one of the big moutain ranges near Tucson. Can't speak to restaurant pool or gym as schedule had other places to cover those needs.

Noisy air conditioner

The air conditioner was so loud that we couldn't sleep, it kept turning on and off. We finally had to turn it off even though the temperature wasn't really cool enough for comfort.

unpleasant stay

While the hotel was adequate, the staff was singularly unaccomodating. We made a reservation for three nights (not a package) and had to change our plans after the first night. The hotel did not want to refund us for the remaining two nights, even though the booker was willing to and was very helpful. After arguing with the hotel manager for an hour, they finally agreed to cancel the remaining two nights but insisted on charging us a $50 "cancellation" fee. None of this was contained in the terms and conditions provided by the hotel. Never again.
