I stayed here for 4 nights with my friend. We had no problems what- so-ever. No surprises, everything was as expected. We did not use spa/pool, so can not comment. Breakfast was very reasonable, I enjoyed it everyday. The place is not noisy, staff is courteaous. Carpets are dark, so they do not look dirty.

Troubled Hotel

I came to Tucson for an job interview, so was looking for a place to get some restful sleep the night before. Needless to say, this didn't happen. Drunken partiers kept me awake the entire night... Management should have stepped in, or called the police. The room was nice with the exception that it did smell like smoke, as if it had previously been a smoking room and there was no attempt to rid the room of the residue. As we checked in, it was clear that there had been some kind of management upheaval, because employees were scrambling to deal with reservations that were weeks old.

Sleepless in Tucson

We arrived at about 10:30 pm,checked in...room looked fine and then the loud music started...continued to about 2am. Finally some sleep. The following day, we arrived back to the hotel and the beds were the way we left them...trash full, restroom dirty...last time we will stay there. I wouldn't recommend it to my mother-in-law.

A lot to be desired

There was mold in the bathroom and a general feeling of old and not so clean. The internet access was a joke. This was a very poor representation of this chain of hotels.

Take the bad with the good

Staff was friendly. Room was clean, but carpets were wet (from shampooing) when I first arrived. First night was amazingly quiet. Nice pool/spa area, but a guy in the area (guest?) kind of scared me away. I slept really well the first night. Mattress was fantastic - I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning! Second night was very noisy. Kids running around, yelling, and slamming doors all night long. I notified the staff, but they reacted almost helplessly. The only quiet I got was from midnight to 6 AM. Made the night awful.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

South 4th Avenue is just a short drive away. This means you have great restaurants and attractions very close by. Just head east on 22nd/Starr Pass to 4th Avenue and turn right (south). You'll have no regrets! Downtown is also very close (just east) and the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is just a few miles west. Overall, this hotel is a great location and a great price.

Great getaway for couples

My love and I went to Tucson because I surprised him with a night out with dinner, the show Fiddler on the Roof and an evening at a hotel. [...]. When we checked in the front desk staff was friendly, quick and efficient. The room was fantastic for the price. Nice bed with lots of pillows, large bathroom, all clean and comfortable. Hot water for bath. We didn't exactly know where to have dinner so we asked the desk clerk for a recommendation and the restaurant she recommended had wonderful food and reasonable prices. The manager told us how to get to the theater and his directions were so easy.We had a wonderful stay and a great evening in Tucson and when we return we will definitely be staying at La Quinta Inn in Downtown Tucson. I would recommend this hotel.

The restaurant Las Cazuelitas is about a mile from the hotel and the food is fantastic. It is the best Mexican food I have ever had. The staff is attentive and the prices are reasonable.

Ok

We stayed at La Quinta while at a soccor tournament, it was the only hotel we could find in the immediate area accepting pets. It is far from the worst place I have ever stayed but is in dire need of renovating. Our toilet was not functioning when we checked it but they did fix it. The beds are fair, but overall the entire room was just dingy. The staff is wonderful and there is a patio with surrounding grass so dog owners will be very happy.
