We enjoyed our 5-day stay
All the staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning in the restaurant. Would like to have been able to eat lunch in the restaurant, too, but they were closed at lunch. Also, kareoke didn't start until 9pm and that's past our bedtime.

Quick trip for school
Upon checking in, I was told that they did not have my reservation. I presented my paperwork and asked if there were still vacancies. The lady at the desk stated that there were still rooms. She went to the back file and found that my reservation had been cancelled at the same time it was booked. While there were a few anxious moments, the issue was cleared up in about 10 minutes. The room was fine, nothing exceptional, I was however displeased that my coffee cup was not cleaned after use (I rinsed it after I used it and it appeared to just be replaced on the coffee maker each day). The complimentary breakfast was made to order and the waitress was very nice, however, it was not convenient to have to go to the office to get a breakfast voucher every day.

Just what we needed...
After days of on and off road traveling, we arrived at our hotel later than was requested, and hoped our room was still available. Not only was it still available but the front desk staff was very friendly and personable. Made us feel right at home. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again when in the area.

Best afordable stay in Tucson AZ
First time in Tucson Arizona. Went to a concert at the University of Arizona. Our stay turn out nice and better then we expected. Was not sure where to stay so decided to stay at this hotel because it was close to the University. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. The room was very clean and newly renovated. The complimentary breakfast was very good and it was in a real restaurant. I was surprise that it was a good to order breakfast. They gave you lots of choices, from two eggs any way you like them with a choice of bacon or sausage and hash browns and toast. Or you can get biscuits and gravy as well as hot cereal, cold cereal, and pancakes and or french toast. For the people that enjoy eating egg whites for breakfast, they have a healthy egg whites with turkey sausage breakfast too. If you are going to stay in Tucson Arizona I would stay here because it is close to old town Tucson and University of Arizona.

Great location, lovely hotel
The hotel is lovely with wonderful room decor. The pool is shaded so you can enjoy it without burning in the Tucson sun. The neighborhood right around the hotel is OK but it is near the University and easy to find.

A reasonable value
I found this hotel when the host hotel of the conference I was attending near the University of Arizona was already booked at the promotional rate. While it is always most convenient to stay at the host hotel when business traveling, this location saved me quite a bit of money on lodging and provided one unexpected bonus: the chance to admire the local architecture as I leisurely walked through the West University Historic District during my daily 15 to 20 minute commute. The hotel had a very accommodating staff and throws in a full breakfast for the price. Its rooms are neat and clean, and it has an outdoor pool for anyone who likes to swim. Three negatives however. Firstly, my pillows were not very comfortable, but shame on me for not requesting something more to my liking. Secondly, there is a freight train nearby that goes by every night and for whatever reason, sounds off its horn. I talked to the manager, and there frankly is little he can do about it. The horns come from the west, so I would request a room that faced north-south if I were to return. And thirdly, on another topic I talked to the manager about, the cab company they are contracted with to transport guests back and forth to the airport--Lucky 777 cab as I recall--charged me $10 more for the ride than the independent company I used on the trip in. No excuse for for the higher fare and the manager said he would look into it. Next time' I'll make taxi arrangements with "VIP Taxi" who serviced me on my initial trip into town, while here's to hoping that Best Western cancels their contract with Lucky. All in all, an okay hotel with very pleasant staff at a very good price and a very loud train. If you are a family and need to be in town, I'd definitely consider this for a vacation stay. The kids would especially like the pool. And if you are doing business near downtown or the University--and if you are a sound sleeper!-- you ought to also consider this hotel. Near enough to the restaurants along 4th Ave, there is no need for a rent-a-car (as long as you hire someone other than Lucky!), and great for anyone who is into historic preservation and doesn't mind a longer walk.

Any of the many fine restaurants along 4th Ave or, if you want to feel like you back on campus, La Salsa on University serves up a very tasty burrito.

Not the Best Not the Worse
Average sums up this hotel and my time there. The food was Average, the room was average, and the staff was average. Although the night clerk charge my debt card twice for the same thing. I got refunded but it took 5 days. That was money I needed for food and taxis while I was there so that was not cool.

Good things + 1 Problem (Dirty carpets)
We were on a road trip and stopped here on our way to El Paso. The hotel has a great breakfast, convenient location (Tucson is really small, not sure that counts), nice gym, great pool and "spa". The carpets in the room are dirty hence the title! So, if you have a toddler...
