Americas Best Value Motel in Tucson

Sofa is so worn that the fabric actually had holes in the fabric. The sofa is the only thing I would ding them on. Great comfortable firm mattress with no sag. Very clean room. Staff was polite, responsive. Room was and was kept very clean.

Conveniently located resting spot

I had a spare afternoon and morning in Tucson before my flight and needed a place to rest. I had planned a hike in Saguaro National Park (West section), so I needed a motel in a convenient location for an early start. This Americas Best Value Inn is conveniently located close to Interstate 10 and Ajo Hwy – one of the fastest routes West from Tucson. I have no particular complains, except that internet connection was too weak to be functional in my room, but it was all right in the reception area. Breakfast could be improved. Doughnuts were the only choice when I stayed there, and frankly that’s too little. Bread and jam or a muffin would have been much better. Good deal for the price though.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Hike Wesson Peak in Saguaro Nat Park (West section), about half hour from the motel (follow Ajo Hwy west and turn north on S Kinney Rd). Climb on King Canyon Trail, descend using Hugh Norris and Sendero Esperanza Trails. The trail head is close to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Long, strenuous desert hike - plan accordingly and ask NP rangers for info. Views are rewarding and the saguaro forest fascinating.

OUR NIGHT IN TUCSON

I FOUND OUT LAST MINUTE THAT I HAD TO TRAVEL FROM PHOENIX TO TUCSON AND I NEEDED A HOTEL FOR ONE NIGHT. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE PLEASANTLY SURPIRSED TO FIND THIS HOTEL. IT WAS VERY ECONOMICAL, NOTHING FANCY BUT VERY CLEAN. THERE WAS SOAP & SHAMPOO WHICH WAS A GOD SEND SINCE I FORGOT TO BRING AND MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I BELIEVE THE WALLS TO BE VERY THIN SINCE I HEARD THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR WHO WERE VERY LOUD. DID NOT HEAR THEIR TV JUST THEM TALKING. WOULD DEFINATELY STAY THERE AGAIN.

The Good, the Bad, and the Really Ugly

We settled into Room 107 and I brushed the top of the bed with my hand. It was damp. I pulled back the covers and found to my absolute horror a big, wet ring. It could have even had some blood mixed in because there was a pinkish tinge around the edges of the ring. I called the desk clerk and described the problem and asked for a refund and she said okay. Almost instantly she rang back and said BECAUSE I had booked with [...], she could not give me a refund, but did offer to change rooms. Thankfully, there was a room next door or that would have been more of a hassle than it was. We brought quite a bit of stuff since we were to be there for three nights. The "Continental Breakfast" that was advertised was nothing more than "coffee and doughnuts". At least the doughnuts were fresh.[...]

Good Tuscon Stay

Friendly staff, room was very comfy and homey feeling. Great room for the price. We actually liked this room alot better than other more expensive rooms we have stayed at. Nice king bed, very roomy, couch with pull out bed, desk, nice bathroom area (tile), ceiling fan, and updated AC/Heating unit.
