Inconsistant is the word for this place
The hotel is run down and the "night window" was the only option at 10am. The lady that greeted me was pleasant and sweet and then admonished me about arriving early, which I knew. After I just looked at her waiting for her mom-like admonishment to end, amazingly she found a room for us. The room's a/c was not working and the bathroom door was locked from the inside. In another feat of amazement, she found a second room ready for us, despite her finger-wagging about being so early. The room was dark with a haphazardly made bed. The sheets seemed clean enough, there was just no care in making the bed itself. The bathroom had obvious, unfixed water damage and the shower door was difficult to close. The fact that the Hot and Cold settings were backward made me very glad I did not grab the first shower. The room was also dark due to a lack of lighting, and some of that did not work at all. The fridge was unplugged and hot inside. Good thing I wasn't traveling with an infant or an insulin dependent diabetic. I have no idea if the microwave worked as I didn't have the necessary radium in order to test a model that old. At least the tv worked and I saw no bugs. I think the bugs chose to stay elsewhere. The swimming pool was tiny and unclean. On second thought it may in fact have been an overly large birdbath with a "no lifeguard" sign.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take the light rail to get around as parking in Phoenix, especially around Chase Field, is difficult and expensive.

St. Patty's Weekend
got to the hotel 4 hours before check in and room was ready. It was close to the concert and bars we wanted to hit. Room was a great price since all others were at least $100 more a night for the same night. Nothing special about this place except location. It was clean, but had to ask for hand soap for the bathroom. Outlet in bathroom did not work and tv remote quit working on us. Overall, I would stay there again for the value

Good value for a price
I recently stayed in Tempe for several days and chose to stay in this hotel. My room was very clean, a bit maybe run down but it was really OK. All necessary facilities were operating. Very comfirtable bad, maybe lights might be a bit stronger. I think this is a very good value for its price, plus it is perfectly located. A bit can become noisy in rush hours from a nearby street traffic (cars). I found this hotel a simple, clean, friendly, comfortable and cheap accommodation. Highly recommended for travellers.

Cheap with location
Hotel is in a good location for downtown Tempe events. However the only good quality is the low price. Everything else about the property is dirty and unpleasant. It is obvious that they don't spend much time cleaning, bathroom counter was dirty. Every corner in the room had dirt in it, you know the kind that unless you make an effort to get it doesn't move with just a quick wipe of the area. Two of the windows in my room didn't have any lock on them or anything to stop them from sliding open. No screens either. Furniture was very old and not in good condition. Pillows were VERY firm. Towels and sheets very thin. Door didn't close well, light came in on all sides.

Cheap Hotel
A hotel like this is why people stick to big chains. If you're a college student that wakes up to beer bottles and unknown houseguests strewn everywhere then this place might work for you. It's dirty, but well located and cheap.

Got lost on the drive in (freeway closed) so tried to call for help but no answer. Located at 2:00am. Room had not been dusted (Headboard and lampshades). Only towels and washcloths for one even though two were expected (glad the other was married to me). One plastic cup. Sample size bar of soap for the whole weekend. And no room cleaning on Saturday. The bed was comfortable or I was to tired to notice.

Basic clean 60s-style motel
I was in town for a conference in Tempe next to ASU. This hotel/motel is right on Mill Street; can't get a better location. It is sparse, clean, with parking and the Internet works fine. A great bargain with no frills.

A decent hotel room
The hotel room was adequate. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a good location. There's a fridge and microwave in the room. I thought the hotel was alright to stay at. I just wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in the room not sleeping.
