Awful. Can not recommend.

Would not recommend Thu, Oct 22, 2015
This hotel offered different rooms for various prices. One of the more expensive rooms had a red rock view. In actuality the view was of a second building under construction almost completely blocking any view of the mountains. The construction workers started at 7 AM on the balcony across from outstep out balcony. The hotel grounds had construction fences, blue tarps strewn about, roofs that were not yet tiled but had the tiles stacked on top. On the positive side the shower would hold four people and the outdoor lobby had a nice fountain. If you want to go to Sedona to shower with friends or sit in the lobby instead of seeing mountains and red rock formations, this is the place. Bring you own ice because the refrigerator doesn't work, but there is a great view of the mountains from the Safeway parking lot next door where you will be able to buy ice.

Very nice but pricey

Would recommend Tue, Oct 6, 2015
The property is very nice -- nice people, nice location, nice decoration. BUT we had asked for (and paid for) a mountain view and we got a mountain view which was also the view of the construction of the new part of the hotel!! Lots of noise and that lovely smell of tar being spread. As soon as we arrived in our room, I called to request a change but was hold there was nothing else with a mountain view and a king-sized bed. Since we were staying three nights and my husband is 6'5, a non-king bedded room was not an option. So we stayed in that room but because of the construction personnel and noise, we could not make use of the balcony and had to keep the shades drawn (bye-bye, view!) for much of our stay.

Very nice hotel, in a great location. Bar and restaurant are great, and there is plenty to do in the area. I'll be booking another trip there soon!

Under Construction noisy: Spa was nice

Would not recommend Tue, Aug 4, 2015
Upon check in we were notified about construction. They said it was just light painting and touch ups. We specifically asked about noise, they said no jackhammer noise or saws. All we heard was noise. Loud leaf blowers at the pool, bandsaws in the distance, and awoke to loud earthmover equipment beep beep beep. For hours beginning at 7am. We couldn't open our windows to see the view due to the lack of privacy with numerous workers walking on same level, and because of the obstructed view from large noisy equipment. I took a video with my cell phone! I was disappointed, we wanted to relax. Couldn't go to pool in morning due to no privacy. Way too many workers in hard hats making all kinds of noise and moving about. Wait until 2016 or check when this project is really completed before you go to Sedona Rouge. They offered to comp my resort fee which is little consolation at 19.00 after spending quite a bit on room and spa. I had to get a manager involved and did a lot of negotiating which left a bad impression on me. I should have been told the truth, and I should have been treated better. Dinner at Reds was just ok. But the wait staff was excellent. Breakfast a Reds was good, but we had a rude waitress who scolded my adult daughter to put her flip flop back on her foot because the owner of the restaurant was there. She was embarrassed and we ate quickly and got out of there. The only bright spot was the SPA. I would go back just for the SPA. Lorelei was wonderful as well as Gabriel and James. Delicious tea, relaxing comfortable robes. Great facility. Best 2 hours we spent at the Sedona Rouge.

We enjoyed the hotel, this was.our second time staying there. Just found that the room smelt a little damp. They might want to change the filters more frequently.

Relax...then shop

Would recommend Wed, Jun 17, 2015
I had a wonderful stay at the Rouge. After having hiking, rafting and camping in the Grand Canyon for a week, I was looking for some relaxation and spa services. This hotel completely met all my needs. The staff was great. They were welcoming and helpful with recommendations and directions. My room was great. It had an amazing shower, but no bath tub. That was the only thing I thought was missing. The spa was nice. The facility was nice. Private hot tub in the womens and mens locker rooms, plush steam rooms. I had two services, both of which were great. I had a deep tissue massage (after hiking the Bright Angel Trail) and it was really, really good. Then on Day 2, I had a Shea Butter Wrap and Massage which was great for my skin after a week + of high, arid temperatures. We also had some time to relax by the pool. The hotel is undergoing a renovation (expanding the spa and adding more rooms) but it didn't really affect my stay at all. The signs say it will be done in the fall of 2015. The restaurant was nice as well. There is a daily happy hour with wine specials and complimentary small plates.

Good stay but could use some improvements

Would recommend Tue, May 26, 2015
Our stay was good with a few exceptions. The first morning we went to make coffee and both cups were dirty. Drinking glasses were no better, the front desk did rectify the situation right away. The resort fee seemed a little high for what we used. Overall the staff was very helpful . The bar had very good entrainment and food and drink were very good.
