Great hotel. A bit pricey

Very good hotel with well done and clean rooms. Great view over Sedona. It seemed weird and unusual that check in was after 4 pm and check out by 10 am... Overall, I would recommend.

Very nice hotel

We went with the Hyatt because of the brand name and my previous experience. The hotel looks great and has wonderful amenities and is extremely clean. The problem was that they divide a 2 bedroom room into two rooms and they are not separated but a extra sound deadening door. We could hear every whisper and every move our neighbors made. This was extremely unpleasant and something i would have never expected from a Hyatt. The king bed, although they say it's quality and supposedly used in all Hyatts, felt old and worn out. Perhaps the bed we have at home is just that much better but i've never slept so terribly in my life. Overall it's a good hotel but only if you're willing to spend the cash on a premium one or two bedroom suite. Not a place to stay at when on a budget.

The Best Home Away from Home Ever!

The Hyatt Pinion Pointe was absolutely amazing from the extremely large Jacuzzi tub to the amazing view from the balcony to the peaceful pool with another amazing view. I can't rave enough about this property, all I want to do is go back!

Location is the only plus of this resort

We just came back from a 2 night stay at this Hyatt. A very unfriendly woman checked us in in which they immediately sat us down with the concierge to listen to their time share sell. Our room was very small and was what we referred to it as being a "dungeon" . Our patio looked out on a solid rock wall. When I asked to change the room as it is not what I booked, the unpleasant front desk clerk commented that the hotel was full and there was nothing she could do. ( the hotel appeared to be almost to be empty !!!) The room was damp and dreary plus very small. All the maid did was change the towels. She did not clean the dishes or the coffee pot. On the plus side the concierge was very helpful in helping us find a store to purchase a duffle bag and dinner reservations. The location is very good being close to shopping and restaurants. The pool was nice but there was no bar service and way too many kids. The time share portion of this hotel really lowers the Hyatt quality. Based on what we paid for this hotel and what we got, I would not stay again> EVER

Beautiful escape from the city

Hotel is in a great location and has many wonderful amenities, such as fire pits, hot tubs, grills, etc. We stayed in a studio room and were fortunate to have a nice view. We were allowed to check in early and check out late, so I'd say the staff was very accomodating. My only complaints would be that there could have more hot tubs for the number of rooms at the resort and on one day we didn't have housekeeping come until 5pm and at that point we were already back in our room resting from a busy day.

My family's stay at Hyatt in Sedona

We stayed in a 1 br suite that included 3 adults and 2 small children. The room generally is smaller than expected for a 1br suite, otherwise, the décor, layout and cleanliness were good. Full kitchen was great for us, since we like to take some of our own food for breakfast and lunch or dinner. The general location of the Hyatt within Sedona is fabulous, its generally the best location in this town, but our suite was way in the back and they said this was a great location, but first floor is really below ground and 2nd floor is really ground floor, so if you have a senior with difficulty walking, the 1st floor is equivalent to 2nd floor for most places, and they were not helpful in accommodating us. Also, they said the views would be good, but on the 1st floor, they are not. The location within the Hyatt complex overall was poor. The room was quite cold, we had to crank the heat, but staff was good about providing extra blankets. Parking was free, and usually were able to get a spot close to the room. The pool and activity center is really great. Pool has 2 heated tubs, and a section for little kids. The activity center is great for toddlers, they have a play area with lots of toys. This was the highlight for our kids, much better for them than seeing the Grand Canyon "Daddy, why do we have to see a bunch of rocks?" was their response to that one. Sedona is a good place for all ages, there's some easy walking trails that are scenic, plenty of interesting shops to visit, and good central location between Grand Canyon and Phoenix. And you don't have to be into those nutty vortexes to enjoy the place. Was it worth the price? Its hard to say, but at least we all have good memories of a trip that will be memorable to us.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

On the way from Sedona to Grand Canyon is a relatively new place called Bearizona near Willams. That was a pleasant surprise. The drive through on the way in was so-so, but the bird show was absolutely amazing and worth the visit. The walking area is spacious, clean and not too crowded, much better than some zoos (but don't expect to see your typical African animals - this is only North American).

Great hotel

Our experience was great. The staff was all very nice & so helpful w/ recommendations for restaurants and hiking. The rooms were very nice, we got the smallest one which was fine for us because we were barely in the room at all. The pool was very nice, great views. It was almost too quiet but we just played music on our phone.
