Fun in the Sun

Was down in Phoenix for a getaway with the girlfriend and also to watch my sister play in a golf championship in Tempe. The location in Scottsdale was great and we had a nice shaded parking spot for our car which we did a roadtrip up to the Grand Canyon with. The pools were absolutely amazing and even more so since it is not really the busy season right now, so we had it all to ourselves. I would absolutely come back to Xona, mostly because it is a great bang for your buck.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a Fry's Grocery store very close by which was extremely convenient since we had a kitchen. It was very nice to have our meals in the comfort of our air-conditioned room or on the patio. Saves a lot of money!

Beautiful resort for any Golfer

Visited Xona with a group of friends in our 20's just wanting to get out of the Midwest for a few days. Beautiful resort, and our room was directly behind the largest of the four pools. The concierge was exceptionally helpful giving us directions to the best places to hike, shop and bars we would enjoy in the Scottsdale area. Only real downer was that it seemed that all the other guests at the resort were golfers. Not many families, and we were probably the only group under 30. By mid-afternoon on Saturday the pool was full of middle-aged hairy men. Ha! More young people should book here! Overall had a great time at XONA.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Really enjoyed the Desert Belle boat tour at Lake Saguaro about 30 minutes from the hotel. Great look at the geology of Arizona and the wildlife. And cheap for only $18 a person!

Great low-season deal

We had the 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with kitchen & washer/dryer in Casita 8 for a week. Beacause the resort website offers very little specific information, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the appt. Drawbacks were minor: a lack of kitchen utensils, silverware and plates, the dishwasher was incredibly noisy (we could also feel the vibrations from the neighbor's washer) and only the big pool is heated (our pool was too cold). The main pool also attracts lots of bees and some cigar-smoking businessmen laying about in unfashionalbe tunks who I wish had stayed fully clothed. Big plusses: great breakfast and poolside service (watch your budget, though), daily housekeeping, friendly and helpful staff, ample comfy chairs and towels by the pool (may not be true during high season) and a very spacious appt with 3 flatscreens. Great for families with (small) children. The AC-controls are outdated but basically work. Because it was off-season, it was pleasantly quiet, but the walls and floors do let through noise.

very good value

We liked the hotel's location and its layout with multiple swimming pools throughout the property. The staff was exceptionally courteous. The breakfasts at the Asada restaurant were very good. We did not eat dinner there so I have no comment. The fitness center could use some updating and you could hear some noise from the adjoining rooms. But, overall it was a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend it.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Most everything you need - dining, shopping, entertainment - is accessible on or near Scottsdale Road, which is the main road a short drive from the hotel.

Xona Resort

The hotel staff were great! Very helpful in suggestions of places to go, things to see, places to shop! The shuttle service was handy as well. The hotel itself is very nice. The pools were great. On the weekends they have a live band playing on the patio of the restaurant, good music.

Xona Resort

The rooms were great. I liked that we were able to be very close to one of the pools. We had dinner at Asada and it was wonderful. I do wish they had a bartender at the pool, but other than that, a wonderful experience. We will definately stay here again.

Totally Cool Place

Everything was great except the staff at the restaurant seemed slow to serve in the multiple times I went there. Everything else was first class and surprisingly affordable I thought. I loved the location that was right next to the desert and still in Scottsdale. I hope to visit agian
