Elephants Dancing Over my Head
Resort is beautiful staff are wonderful, however, towels in my room were dirty at check in and the noise from the room above was horrible. I checked out a day early to get away from the banging, thumping and slamming of drawers and doors. I would return BUT only to a room on the third floor.

Great value
Vacationed in Scottsdale at Zona with my daughters. Very affordable suite with comfortable king bed. 4 pools; 2 are salt water. Really enjoyed lounging at the pools. Very convenient location close to 101 loop which connects you to all Valley cities.

Big disappointment
Outdated and small accommodations. Refrigerator made noise. The air conditioning broke down making very loud noises in the middle of the night. Had to wait until 3:00 PM the next day for a new room. Asked to use restroom in the lobby and was sent to the restaurant. Had to use seat covers for toilet paper, and there was trash all over the floor. We will not stay there again. It is also a three story hotel with no elevators.

Understaffed and Needs Attention
A great location in Scottsdale for a spring training trip but looks and feels like an aging vacation timeshare. Mixed messages on guest demographics: a Lambourgini was parked in front, a little league team was checking out. We arrived early to drop off luggage before our first game and front staff could not find my reservation and asked if I had booked it under another name. Since I only have one name, I left a copy of the reservation receipt for someone to "look into" and was told "those rooms would not be ready until 4". Which was fine since that was our expected check-in, but my husband & I wondered if they would be out gathering the straw for our mattress in the basement with that attitude and no apology. 4 pretty pools, but the waterfall pool we used needs decking redone. The spa jets are completely ineffectual and just roil water about 10 inches above the surface of the water. The room was comfortable with a full kitchen, but missing & dirty flatware. A cardboard Kleenex box on the bathroom counter and cigarette butts around our casita entryway and other areas of the grounds were not things we had seen at any previous 4 star property stay. We were on the bottom of three floors and could hear guests above us walking around; I did not find it disturbing, my husband did. Unfortunately 2 bad experiences in the restaurant as the Friday evening staff was completely overwhelmed and the Saturday breakfast host was downright surly and waitress unpleasant. Food was very good and the patios if they had been properly bussed and staffed, were very nice with weekend live music and charming fireplace. We also had to return to correct a breakfast bill when we had been overcharged for breakfast items we did not order or receive. Might not be a happy vibe for those disturbed by others smoking in entryways (our suite was non-smoking-I’m assuming the others are also, explaining all the outside butts) or who do not want to see unsupervised boys running through grounds, one colliding with a female guest in front of me who then yelled obscenity at the kid. Pluses: pet and family friendly, boarding pass print out kiosk, delicious Arnold Palmer (1/2 lemonade/iced tea) cold drink always available, free shuttle within 5 miles. As great as the rest of our spring training trip was it would have to be a REALLY big discount to get us to return to Zona.

Good for what I needed
Been here twice. The first one was peaceful & this last one was like living in a big family oriented apartment complex. There were noisy kids running around and loud neighbor who has no self awareness or consideration for others with his boisterous phone conversation outside of his room. When it comes down to it, it is a big apartment complex with several pools, resto & average fitness room

Very nice stay at the Zona
Greeted at the entrance and the check-in was a breeze. The room was comfortable and very clean. Dinner in the restaurant was very nice and included a good selection of wines. After dinner there was live music out on the open air lounge which was perfect for unwinding after a long day of meetings. Overall a great value and the staff 'gets it' when it comes to making your stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely stay there again next time in Scottsdale.

The restaurant staff was very accommodating for our breakfast meeting with no advance notice. The food was good and the service was unobtrusive, just what you hope for while you're launching into a busy day.

Definitely not prepared
Phoenix hosts many special events in the winter and this is a popular location for people to stay during the TPC. This should be no surprise to the management and staff. We attempted to check in at the end of this event and the room was not ready way beyond check in time and they attempted to check us into an unclean room. It was Super Bowl Sunday (also an event that should not surprise anyone) and we waited for our room at the bar. The bar was desperately understaffed and wait staff poorly trained. The service was terrible. This hotel commands premium pricing during peak season and did not deliver.
