Yea, its outside appearance looks abandoned but the staff was great - very helpful, and the room was newly remodeled. My family had fun swimming and us adults enjoyed the proximity of the scottsdale night life. Would DEFINITELY go again - we live here in Arizona and it was a treat! Only thing is we had a room full of mosquitoes, I think because they found a water source in our room (hanging wet bathing suits in bathrom) but it didnt really bother us after we slaughtered them all. If you are looking for something fancy and pricey try the W right up the road. This place was afordable and fun. :)

Brand newly remodelled april 2011

This was a nice hotel, the bathtubs, vanities, furniture, and carpet were all new. It was clean and priced very right, especially for its location. It had a very nice heated pool and its breakfast of danish, muffins, bagels, cereal and more were much more than we expected. Apparently when they became the travelodge a lot was done to the hotel and it shows. The staff and mgr. were very friendly and the mgr especially was very funny. Would reccommend this hotel to anyone and will stay their if ever back in scottsdale!

Comfortable beds!

We received excellent service from the hotel staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the coffee was delish. One room did have a bathroom light out; however the beds were very comfortable. We would stay again. We were disappointed there wasn't a computer for the guests to use.

stayed at different hotel

At the Homestead the kitchen was wonderfull and we loved having a door for the bedroom at bed time. If we had stayed at the Ramada we would have had to change hotels on our second day (the day of the wedding) and packed up two small children twice. We loved staying in one hotel the entire 5 days we were there.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The shopping was within walking distance of the hotel. You could go to the grocery store or jewelry store.

The bad and ugly

The night we got there we had to change rooms because there was water soaked carpet between the bathroom and sink area. The room was dirty and needs major updates. The towelbar was falling off of the wall, the pillow cases were stained, carpet was filthy, bathtub was craking, pealing and dirty. We moved rooms due to the water and the second room wasn't much better. Toilet seat was disgusting. Had to go to the store and buy room deod. and cleaner. Who wants to do that on vacation?? Internet was down for 2 days, vending machines out of order, pool was dirty, pool chairs didn't recline, laundry not unlocked. Last night we were there they walked us to another hotel and didn't even tell us they were going to do this until the night before... we were there for 6 days!! This hotel is a joke!! You should be embarrassed to sell this hotel!!
