Perfect in Everyway

From pulling in the driveway to checking out, our stay was perfect. We were greeted in a very friendly and accomodating manner and the service maintained that standard throughout the stay. The room was of high quality and the facilities first class. A great fitness center and pool complex. The food was excellent but a touch pricey. Well located to Scottsdfale. We had a great time during this repeat visit and we will,be back

Scottsdale 5 Star Resort

Very exquisite hotel in Scottsdale area. Excellent staff and customer service. Enjoyed golf, pool and hiking adjacent Camelback Mountain trail right next door. As with many resorts, pool chairs were hard to come by after 9AM. Overall, very nice hotel although cost somewhat pricey.

Really enjoyed hiking up to the top of Camelback Mountain which abuts the property. Took 2 1/2 hours round trip and was moderate to moderately strenuous.

Great romantic weekend

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time here. From the pictures, it looks like the pools may be far away; they're not. There aren't "100 pools" or whatever is advertized. Really, it's 2 main pools and 1 main hot tub. The property may look like it was built years ago, but their furnishing withstood the test of time and do not look dated. It is elegant with a pretty view. The service was pleasant and timely at the pool. We both had the best massage of any place we've been at their spa and their gym has everything you need. Great weekend trip to unwind.

Property review

This was a great facility with a great location. We played golf (short and over priced but pretty), spa (great treatment but small locker room), and hiked camel back mountain (requires hiking gear to be safe). The pool was very warm with great service. The room service was timely and good but had a small menu. The steak house had a great atmoshphere and good food. My only real complaint was that the staff wasn't as friendly as I would of hoped. The hoetel was short on cabs Friday night.

If you hikeCamel Back Mountain. Go up and back on the side close to the hotel. If you travel down on the other trail, you will end up with a 3.7 mile walk back to the hotel! Wear hiking shoes!!!!!

Great place for a weekend

We went for a night over 4th of July weekend and everything was great. We spent the entire day in the pool to beat the heat and it was great. The staff couldn't have been better. Well worth the money.

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful experience at The Phoenician. The hotel staff was very service-oriented and friendly. The florist had a special bouquet arranged for me to give to my wife at the airport, the concierge made a very good restaurant recommendation, and the room service was very impressive. Food at the restaurant onsite, J&G Steakhouse, was phenomenal. What the room lacked (only a little) in it's impressiveness was made up for by the extensive resort grounds, which were beautifully designed and meticulously maintained. We would certainly stay here again.

J & G Steakhouse was an excellent dining experience. It was pricey, but we were prepared for that and had an amazing meal. We were impressed with the portion sizes, which were not too big. The waiter described the portion sizes as intended to allow sampling of a larger variety of different flavors. It was a very memorable meal.

The quick getaway - Phoenician

Traveler: Usually stays in five star hotels. Frequents Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. Phoenician: This is a 4 1/2 out of 5 star hotel. The location is right off Camelback mountain. Hotel includes multiple restaurants, SPA and golf course. The service is very good and the customer service is better then satisfaction. Downside to this hotel: The pools. Yes, pools. The pools are very well maintained and the service at the pool is very good. Two downsides. The pool is surrounded by Metal gates that open and close. The doors themselves are very heavy and seem to be a great item for children to play with. If you sit near any of these (which it is very hard not to) all you hear throughout the day are the doors clanging open and closed. The hotel could fix these if they actually put the doors at the other ends of the ramps and not near the patrons. The other downside of the pool is that the one true place that you can get full sun is where the cabana's are located. It is a little senseless to pay $150 for a cabana if multiple chairs are open..but it is one of the only ways to get full sun throughout the day. Downside #2: The SPA is outrageously priced. The price for a massage is greater then the Peninsula. The SPA is also a little dated. To be fair they are getting ready to renovate. Upsides: The outdoor spa here is great. The outdoor service is great and the location could not be better. You are able to walk right out and get to Camelback. The hike is great and challenging and can be done multiple times during your trip. Upside #2: Upstairs outdoor bars with fire pits and patios. The service in this area is exceptional and the staff is very friendly. We will be back but maybe not for the lower pool area and SPA.

The Beautitul Phoenician

The Phoenician, the resort itself is absolutely beautiful! The staffs are very pleasant and nice, they responded to our needs immediately! We got a suite with a balcony, which overlooked the golf course and a mountain very! The weather was perfect, because we were able to have our coffee on the balcony. Definitely will return to this resort!!!

We had dinner at the hotel, but also at the Scottsdale Fashion Mall. There were lots of restaurants near Fashion Mall. The dinning and shopping wasn't far from the Phoenician Resort.

Not a good value!

We used the pool and one of the restaurants. [...]5 Star hotel was somewhat lacking. Low quality towels. They were very rough and had several pulls.
