Quiet, lovely get away!
This hotel is extremely well located with special grocery store, restuarants, shopping and bus stop on main highway that gets you to Old Town and Shopping Mall. Nice experience and much cheaper than others in the area. Clean and comfortable. Padded chairs to lay out by the pool and beautiful, natural scenery and foilage.

I love classic Az hotels
This is a classic resort. If you are looking for fancy pools and $20 drinks it isn't for you. If you are looking for a clean, modern room, with lots of space and a garden with table outside your room. It is perfectly laid out and in the perfect location in Scottsdale: hotels in the area are twice as expensive. Family run by the Williams brothers who are there to help you. I am a fan indeed.

Good location and a clean updated room
the bungalow was a single room with a patio door as an entry door. The room has a fridge, microwave, flat screen TV, a desk with two chairs, two armchairs, iron board with an iron, a coffee maker (12 cups). The bathroom was clean. Shower head was a little low (and I'm not a tall guy: 5'7), but that was not a big deal. The glass patio door opens to a nice sort-of private patio with a patio table and two chairs. Bushes around serve as a green fence. Overall, I was really pleased.

very cozy
Excellent on multiple levels, great customer service as the hotel is family owned and they take pride in their hotel. Place seemed like an oasis of green grass in the desert and close to all the main attractions in Scottsdale(Long walk or short drive)

Heart of Scottsdale!!
My stay at The Smoke Tree was absolutely perfect. The price can't be beat for such a quaint place. Located just barley inside Paradise Valley, The Tree gives you access to all that Scottsdale has to offer, looking forward to my week here for Spring Training!!

The Land That Time Forgot
Absolutely love the staff at this place and the property has lots of potential. Unfortunately, other than the flat screen TV, it looked like very little has been done to update this place since the 1970s. The restaurant has closed down, and there's no internet or modern amenities of any type. In fact, the property is for sale. There didn't appear to be anyone else staying at the place, so if you're looking for privacy and a quiet place to drop off the grid this is a good option. We also enjoyed having the mini kitchen in the room. I hope for the best for this place, but I fear the next time I return to Paradise Valley it won't be open anymore.

Resort? Uh, not really.
Once you get inside, the grounds are ok. Nothing special, very small pool. Bed was awful! Shower backed up. Staff marginal. Location is great, right around the corner from shopping, dining and much better hotels!

Decent
I felt like to lodgings were misleading when booked on [...], thought I had booked a "bungalow" with a bedroom and kitchen, but instead checked into a room with small kitchenette. Had flat screen TV but not a single channel came in well. Toilet frequently ran and didn't always flush properly. Heater was very loud and woke me up often at night. But was also very quiet location, nice grounds, small but warmed pool, and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Unexpected pleasure!
I have passed by this place many times on previous trips and never noticed it. The frontage is unassuming, but once you enter the compound, paradise! The night manager took me personally to my room and helped with luggage. That set the tone for this quiet refuge in the center of a bustling area. Definitely not your corporate average impersonal accommodation. The cabanas were 60's solid construction, but nicely remodled and upgraded. Will stay there in the future.
