Scottsdale Resort and Athletic Club

The listing said that rooms featured Roman Style Jacuzzi tubs, but fails to mention that they are available only if you purchase the Villa which is over twice the price of the room rate listed (which said special price). Rooms were clean, but plain jane. Could have gone to La Quinta and got a better room with more features. Continental breakfast featured day old bagels and pastries and some boxes of cereal (again better at La Quinta or other hotels). Live band at the bar consisted of a guy with a keyboard and a drummer one night, and a guy with a keyboard and a singer the next. Music was lounge lizard quality and the youngest people there were in their 70's and there were only about 8 or 10 of them. Bartender did not know how to make mixed drinks and my wifes Vodka and cranberry juice was so bad she couldn't even finish half of it. Hotel was practically empty I think there was only 1 couple sharing a room on the side that I was on. Maybe 5 cars in the parking lot....Sad because it could be such a nice place. Pretty bad that it's that empty during the holiday season.

I needed to get away and unwind for the weekend but didnt want to go far from home. I had a great time and would go back !

Perfect for running, biking, hiking, swimming....make your own food....great training place. Quiet little paradise:)

The front desk staff was very helpful & accommodating. My standard room was ready before the scheduled 4pm check-in time. It was very clean, & the bed was very comfortable. Plenty big for 2 people, not spending a lot of time in the room. For families, a suite would make more sense. The location is great for walking, golfing & a variety of restaurants for dining.

If you love tennis then this is the place for you. If you are on a standard business trip this place is less attractive. The check in process was time consuming - what normally takes 2 minutes took over 20 with this hotel and lack of staffing. The continental breakfast was a complete joke. Canned fruit in a salad bowl, some not so fresh bagels and cold cereal. Most continental breakfasts would have fresh fruit, yogurt and either donuts or pastries or muffins - not so here. The grounds are nice and the pool is nice. There wasn't a lot that stuck out except for the unlimited use of the gym and tennis courts, if you have time for those and enjoy them then this could be the place for you.

We had a very nice stay at this location. The free access to the fitness center next door was a major plus. One down side was thier pool was not heated but the fitness center lap pool was so it made up for that. If you are looking for a nice quiet time this is the place. we would stay there again.

The Scottsdale Resort and Athletic club featured a comfortable room, good size bath and easy access to a fairly decent, large pool and hot tub. Very quiet atmosphere in this out of the way resort. Did not try the tennis rackets court (lots of them) or the health club due to short stay and visiting our son at ASU-but all was nearby. Room air was blowing hard though - cooled off nice though. Close proximity to restaurants and shops = very convenient. Good service and welcoming reception! Would stay there again. Sparky Bob

Exterior was a little dated but the room was very nice. They upgraded us and the room had a kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, etc, a dining area, nice living area, patio with table and chairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large with a jetted tub. Large pool and the athletic club was also very nice. Not sure what the regular rooms are like but ours was great.

I looked for a house to buy, and also it was a wonderful vacation time for me.

Location 3 minutes to the 101. Rooms were updated and clean with very comfortable bed, and the Athletic Club was great. If you workout when you travel, this place is terrific.
