ripoff
I paid over $200 per night to sleep in the room. Upon arrival I needed clothing pressed for the wedding the next day. A tux shirt and dress. The bill came to $49 for press only. There were some lotions and creams on the vanity all with prices attached. The bathroom was old and not clean. The vanity area had lights around the mirrors that were so hot it melted the makeup off your face. I asked the concierge for directions to the reception we were attending and she acted like we were bothering her. Reluctantly she obliged. After checking out they e-mailed me a bill. I had given them my credit card for incidental, of which should have been only the pressing charge. I was surprised to find charges of an additional $15.per day plus tax. When I asked what this was for, I was told it was for use of the pool, excercise room, newspaper delivered to the room as well as use of the room safe (that was broken) I was not informed at check in that there would be an additional charge. I have protested to the hotel and asked for an adjustment. They have not responded.

Nice facility with sub par rooms.
This facility was rated as a four star hotel and matched that in most categories except the most important. The rooms were equivalent to a room you'd find in a Best Western or equivalent. They were clean and comfortable but certainly not 4-Star. The facility common areas were well maintained and attractive. The pools and grounds were very attractive and comnfortable. The location was perfect and only 2 miles north of Old Town Scottsdale and The Fashion Mall.

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Old Town Scottsdale was an area that provided entertainment at all times of the day. Good restaurants and entertainment nightly and shops, farmers market and people watching were great during the day. This is a nice place to hang out at any time during a lull in you visit

Good bargain for Scottsdale
We visit Scottsdale often to escape the winter chill in Flagstaff. The Scottsdale Plaza Resort is one of the best bargains in the "high season". Large, comfortable rooms, laid-back atmosphere, beautiful mature landscaping (shade is like gold in the desert), close to downtown. Don't expect new and sparkling. For that, move up to the Fairmont, for $200 more per night. Upgrade to a villa suite if possible. Private, roomy, quiet, huge manicured lawn, patio. Sweet. Wherever you are, use the villa pool. Unless you like crowds and noise.

Not a four star resort
Bathtub drain very slow, no refrig in room, costly add on services (internet connection $1 per minute in Business Center) that are free in most hotels.
