beautiful place extordinary staff

My wife booked this getaway to excape the horrible winter we had in Chicago this year and she couldnot have booked a better resort. The location and amentities were nice but the staff made all the difference. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning crew were extra attentive to all our needs and very quick to remedy any problems we had. Overall a great place to stay and we'll def be back.

Great family vacation for sun and relaxation

We chose the Omni in Scottsdale for a week away from the cold Minnesota winter. We have 11 year old twins. It was the perfect spot for us. We were looking for more relaxation and sun rather than constant motion and tons of people. Both my husband and I and our children loved it. Just enough to do without having to deal with long lines or tons of people at the pool. The spa is amazing! Loved the resort.

Excellent Location, Incredible Staff

I've stayed at this hotel now for four years over the same weekend with a varying degree of friends. The accomdoations are fanastic (the bed, linens, and pillows are amazing and the bathrooms are shockingly large) and the view can't be beat. However what keeps us coming back is the absolutely top notch staff that serves and remembers us year after year. Hugo, Brandi, Justin, and Nicco at Centro are wonderful and dealt with all of my group's special requests (dietary needs, "off-menu" drinks, etc) and were so incredibly sweet and welcoming. Scott, the Concierge, made excellent suggestions for dinner in Scottsdale and was very pleasant to deal with. Overall, the view and boutique feel of the resort make it special but it is the staff and service that really sets it apart.

Wonderful getaway- but a few hesitations...

First of all, Montelucia is a beautiful resort in a wonderful location and we had a relaxing, rejuvenating getaway. The only reason why we didn't give it 5 stars was because we were a bit disappointed in the room for the cost. We had a deluxe Camelback mountain room view. (I believe they actually upgrade us to that room with the view) The view was sort of obstructed, yet still peaceful and we could see Camelback (through trees!) However, the room was very small and the bathroom was a bit on the dark side and overall- just very average for an upscale resort. Not nearly as deluxe as the Sanctuary, for example or even the Princess. We asked to pay extra to upgrade to a larger room but were told they were fully sold out. This wasn't a big problem,as the room and resort were still nice- but we were so far away from the rest of the resort and the room was just ok. One thing we didn't understand was the first night we were given turndown service. The next night, no turndown. So we asked and they said that we needed to request it and so they did. We never had it again even with the request. Most $$$ hotels offer this automatically with consistency. The staff couldn't have been nicer- even sent us choc. covered strawberries and waived the $25 resort fee- which was unexpected and classy. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. We didn't understand their cabana fees, as the pool was nearly empty and we were told we could use the nicer chairs in front of cabanas since it was pretty vacant, yet the last couple days, they told us to move or pay a $100 fee. They should put a sign on the cabanas explaining this policy and be more consistent. Even the staff seemed confused and said 'it was a new policy'. The spa was beyond amazing. Treatments were wonderful and spending the day at the spa pool was relaxing and peaceful. One of the nicest spas I have been to. I am not sure I would stay there again mostly because of the room and other hotel options in Scottsdale/Paradise Valley that I also think are top notch, yet we had a really nice weekend there.

Almost perfect

The staff was friendly, the grounds beautiful, the room amazing, the grilled peach margarita sublime. The pool? Filthy. It was the one jarring note in an otherwise wonderful stay. We went to the Oasis Pool, which was billed as an adults only pool, hoping for a nice relaxing swim. There were no children but the pool obviously hadn't been skimmed in days. It was so surprising because everywhere else we went was beautiful and clean but it did put a slight damper on the whole experience.

awesome, but watch the hidden fees

This was an outstanding get away. In Phoenix for work, but afterwards this place made the trip feel like a vacation. Only problem was the hidden fees. Parking, "resort", wireless, etc. Rooms and grounds were great. Sports bar closed too early (8).

Worth every dollar

The bed was a soul sucking bed that was super comfy. The room was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and quick. I'm usually a little bit of a penny puncher and i booked this hotel for our wedding night and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Very comfortable, great views, and wonderful dining.

It was our first time at this resort and we were truely impressed. Our rooms were very attractive and comfortable. The views from the hotel, ie the mountains were delightful, especially at sunrise and sunset. We particularly enjoyed the dining experience and entertained friends of ours from Scottsdale one evening. They also were impressed. It made for a very enjoyable vacation
