Scottsdale resort ranked among the world’s best by Travel + Leisure

The five-star InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa draws inspiration from Spain's Andalusia region to create an unforgettable Arizona experience. Situated at the foot of postcard-perfect Camelback Mountain, the resort is just minutes away from Scottsdale and Phoenix attractions such as Old Town Scottsdale and the Phoenix Zoo. But with golf, fine dining and an award-winning spa, guests settle into plenty of activities at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa.

Highlights
  • Sunset Cinema series with al fresco film screenings
  • Planet Trekkers Kids Club: Indoor and outdoor activities like life-size chess, treasure hunts, gaming room (Wii and X-Box) and more
  • On-site Joya Spa
  • Priority tee times are four area golf courses
Rooms

Thirty-five acres of lush desert landscape are the backdrop for the incomparable rooms, suites and villas at InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa. Expect poster beds, desert, pool or mountain views, private patios or balconies and the Divine Bed by Joya Spa. Flat-panel HDTVs, free Wi-Fi Internet access, luxurious sunken bathtubs and showers with dual showerheads are some of the amenities that make this resort a Scottsdale standout.

Features

While the heart and soul of the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa comes from Andalusia, there are other influences here, too -- a restaurant inspired by Villa San Michele in Tuscany, a wedding chapel with elements of the Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The Castillo Lucena event space is accented with 16th-century palace double doors from the village of Luceno in southern Spain.

Dining

Restaurants, bars and cafes at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa represent some of the best of Scottsdale, from Lavazza coffee drinks and housemade gelato to award-winning fine dining at Prado, where the dinner menu changes daily to highlight the freshest ingredients available.

Recreation

InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa features five pools surrounded by palm and citrus trees and direct views of Camelback Mountain. Soak up the sun or relax in the shade of a luxury cabana.

Joya Spa provides a combination of bliss-inducing services, including spa treatments, salon services, a yoga and fitness center and global spa cuisine at Joya Terrace.

Special Family Holiday...

We arrived at night and the view was breathtaking. I loved the firepits, smell of the burning fireplaces and beautiful holiday lights. It was a perfect visual welcome. The valet/attendants were 5 star and met all our needs as soon as we entered to register. The room was exactly what I requested. The patio furniture needs updating though due to lack of comfort and stains. The housekeeping staff deserve high praise for all their efforts. I also suggest seek off site options for dining. The only place worth a 5 star rating for customer service was the Crave Cafe. Spa service was lacking. It was below expectations compared to other resort spa services. The resort in itself is wonderful and relaxing. Prado and Joya Spa could use staff retraining for customer service. All in all (despite Prado and Joya Spa) it was a memorable holiday trip for my family.

Great stay; a few minor glitches

Overall, we had a wonderful time staying at the Montelucia. The grounds and scenery were beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff were focused on making sure we received great service had a good time (and they genuinely seemed to enjoy being there themselves). We experienced one minor problem with our room - the frame on the patio door fell off - which was promptly fixed. Also, when we were checking out at 4:30 a.m. to catch an early morning flight, the express checkout on the television was not working. Yet, when we went to the front desk to check out in person, there was no one there. We left a note and have our fingers crossed that there are no issues with billing. Pending the resolution of this matter, we certainly plan on returning.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The staff are very friendly and the service is 5 star quality!

We had a fantastic time in this hotel and did not want Depart! The hotel is beautifully designed, you feel like you are in an exotic island! My 11 year old and 8 year old loved it. The food is great, and the location is the best in Pradise Valley. We got upgraded to a suite with two queens beds and the bathroom was as big as the room. We woke up to the view of the Camelback mountain which is breathtaking! I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone! Patel Family!

Paradise, the perfect staycation

This was a surprise for a my girlfriends birthday/staycation on our winter break from college. I found the perfect place to relax and enjoy. When we pulled in she had a big smile on her face and so did I and it just got better from there. The valet/bell guys up front were really nice and accommodating, they welcomed us, and even though we didn't valet, they unloaded our bags onto a big golf cart, waited for us to park, and then brought us to our room, and even brought the bags in. Next, the room was awesome. Everything was the top of the line stuff, there was a Keurig for morning coffee, the bathroom was amazing, the room overall was perfect. The bed sheet/blanket wasn't 10/10 but it was comfortable. Another thing is it is in a great location. We wen't to Mastro's City Hall for dinner, and it was a short drive, same with breakfast. The view of Camelback mountain is beautiful, and the pool area with the palm trees and everything is awesome. We are going to come back and take couple pictures sometime, its that good. The only place on the property we ate at was the lounge. We had two coupons for cocktails and chips/salsa. We had a Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri, they were really good. I reccomend the place, especially with the coupons. I dont know what else to write, I'm sure im leaving something out. But basically, overall, this place was very very nice, and we are definitely coming back, maybe when it is warmer though. The whole property is beautiful, and we enjoyed our stay.

Go to Mastro's City Hall Steakhouse. It is hands down the best dinner I have ever had, and I think my girlfriend can agree. We have been to several places in the area, except Fogo De Chao, and this takes the cake.

Wonderful Property!

This is truly a resort to come back to. The grounds were incredible the rooms were fantastic and the Spa was second to none. It's not often you get a private deck off your room that is 100 square feet.

Fabulous Relaxing Getaway

Everything was fabulous, from the views to the anemities to the mattress, pillows & sheets. The spa is extraordinary in services and is just gorgeous. The staff was so friendly and very helpful in every way. We had a family wedding there and it was perfect. Our family stayed in both rooms and the Camelback Villa, which is beyond unbelievable. The entire property is just a dream! Wish I could have stayed forever!!

over priced

If your looking to pay an arm and a leg for a weekend get away then this is the place for you. The food at the resort was slimy and way over priced. We only ate the once because of this. We found that the spa part to be okay but not spectacular, I could have stayed home and gotten better service. This was suppose to be an anniversary trip not a birthday celebration but the hotel screwed up an sent us cupcakes saying happy birthday then later sent some truffles saying happy anniversary. But come to find out we were charged for both. The hotel says its a five star but the only time I saw five star was when we were leaving.
