The Strand's Nov 10, 2009
This hotel exceeded our expectations. We've had the opportunity to stay at many 4 and 5 star hotels and this one ranks right ... up there at the top! The hotel is beautiful, the grounds were manicured, the pools were awesome and the service was great. We lounged by one of the ten pools during the day and enjoyed the entertainment of a live band in the courtyard every night while sitting outside by one of the many fireplaces/firepits having a cocktail! This place was amazing!!!!!!!!

Must go to restaurant is Oregano's located about 3 miles from the hotel. Expect at least an hour wait on a weekend night (no reservations available) but this Italian food is like no other!

Wow what a resort!
Ozzie Traveller Oct 17, 2009
We came to the resort for a long weekend getaway, and just didn't want to leave. Scottsdale is a great place for couples and ... families alike, and we also took time to head out to Sedona for the day (~2hr drive - talk about amazing views). The Hyatt Regency Resort is the best resort I have stayed at to date, it is maintained to perfection and has everything you could ever want. Golf, tennis, gym, spa, a massive pool area (well there were about 20 pools), and great bars/restaurants onsite. You have to hang out in the main courtyard, stunning setup and views of the mountains. We will definitely go there again. Flying into Phoenix and taking a car rental is the best plan.

Great Resort~
Alexis Aug 24, 2009
The Hotel resort was excellent. Great for family or adults. This hotel offers a seperate Adult pool area which is nice if ... you want to be away from the kids but, considering the fact that we have a 15 month old, the other pools were excellent. There was always chairs available and the pools were large and seperated nicely. Buffet breakfast on weekends is excellent for $18 per person but we had regency club wo on weekdays, we ate there (continental bfast--lox, bagels, croissants, cereals, coffees, fruit etc).

Awesome place to relax!
Spa Seeker Aug 20, 2009
This was the perfect place to come and relax. The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the ... 2.5 acre pool was amazing. Try the water slide. If you have the money to spend, spend it at the spa which was like a resort of it's own. We stayed during the week so it was not very crowded but heard that it got a little crazier during the weekends.

Food is pricey on the resort but if you turn right out of the hotel there are some restaraunts a few blocks away. Some of them are equally expensive but The Kitchen has great food and good deals.

Superb Hotel - I'd love to visit again!
business traveler Aug 15, 2009
Just a superb hotel in a great location. It is a "resort" hotel not a traditional business traveler hotel. So it has a ... wonderful, laidback, charming ambience and is probably has the most understated luxury of any hotel I've stayed in. The room was spotless, the bathroom was great. The hotel patio and vistas are just fantastic. The only thing I didn't appreciate were the 5.50 bucks they charge for bottles of water in the room. For the prices they charge, Hyatt should provide bottled water. And in Arizona you will be drinking a LOT of water trust me. Also, there was no coffee maker in the room. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars, but for the quality and price, and location, the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch is superb.

Eat breakfast at Butterfield's ($19) as apposed to ($43) in the hotel. Didn't eat dinner there but $14 for 2 eggs or a stack of pan cakes is a little much. Drinks were reasonable.

This hotel is in a great location, right off of Scottsdale rd. 10 minutes from good places to eat and shop, but a must to ... rent car if you stay here. Our room never cooled off, but it was also almost 110 in the day and only got down to 85 at night in late June. Be ready to pay alot for food and drinks at hotel. Even around the pool the drinks and food are expensive.

This trip was a mommy-get-a-way for me and another girlfriend. The hotel was beautiful - the pictures don't lie. Staff was ... very friendly; we arrived early and they allowed us to do an early check-in and upgraded us to a room with an extended balcony over looking the pool. Great room! The pools were very nice; they had an adult only pool which was great for us since the kiddo's didn't tag a long. There were kids at the resort but not too many so it was nice. The lounge is beautiful to sit in at night. They had live music and a the back drop of the mountains was amazing. The food was a little over priced ($13 for pancakes - WOW!) We didn't rent a car since the hotel provided shuttles to the shops. We may not do that next time so we can do a little more site seeing. Over all it was a great place and will be going back for sure!

My Impressions
Jim The Traveler May 30, 2009
Every thing was super, check in was a snap and my room was ready well before the listed check in time. However at check out ... I was presented with a bill that contained cost that I was not aware of. This was a per day resort fee and when asked what this was I was told that it is a charge to every guest and covers the use of all of the resort facilities, such as the golf course, tennis courts, access to the spa. However I don't golf or play tennis and the spa has its own charges.
