Howard Johnson Scottsdale Old Town

Home away from home. Nice and comfy nice little breakfast.

The rooms were clean. But you can hear everything from neighboring rooms, bars nearby and street traffic. If you want to get to sleep before 3am on a weekend, not a good idea if you are a light sleeper. Asked for a quiet room and did not get it. Front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful. Would not stay here again.

I came here for a quick business vacation and wanted to find a place in Scottsdale. Price - Great price, but you also get what you pay for. I had an issue with no COLD water. Not really a major concern, but it was when I was thirsty. There was a shortage of hangars, but this isn't a major concern either. Location - Excellent. You can't find a better location for a price like this. It's right in the heart of downtown Scottsdale. Literally everything is within walking distance. In fact, the location is what puts the Howard Johnson ahead of its competition. Staff - Incredible staff. Housekeeping calls you in the morning to ask if you'd like service, which I found to be a little odd. Nevertheless, every housekeeper was very friendly and polite. Same with front desk!

Look past the exterior look of the hotel and set your foot inside the nice, newly renovated rooms. Once inside, you forget that the exterior looks like a motel 8. We needed a place to sleep when we were in town visiting family. It is in old town Scottsdale where my husband used to live and near the strip of bars for some night life. We were looking for a king sized bed, fridge to keep my baby's milk, microwave, and some sort of breakfast. We had continental breakfast the entire time we were there. There was a surprisingly nice variety and it was very nicely arranged and displayed. Even the coffee was delicious and I didn't even need to buy starbucks. The staff especially the morning one was very nice and friendly. We accidentally left our baby's blanket in our room when we checked out. I called them within hours and they were so sweet, they shipped it home to us free of charge!!I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for an inexpensive place to spend the night, be close to the bars and shopping mall, and free complimentary breakfast!

close to everything, very friendly staff. wifi free, parking free, breakfast free. Room are clear and have been renovated as mention in previous post. can't ask for more and will definitely return.

for the price, this is by far the best address in Scottsdale. Room is clean, there's a fridge and a microwave and free wifi. the breakfast is included and parking is free. You can walk downtown Scottsdale and to fashion square within 5 minutes Highly recommended and will go back! very friendly staff.

Right in the middle of EVERY club No need to drive, golf carts take you EVERY where Staff is awesome. I learned a magic trick from the desk guy

New motel, still working out bugs, it is expected. Staff seemed a little flustered, still wrote off as newness. Room key took three tries to open door, with each failure another trip to front desk. We were not the only families with this problem at the same time.

What an incredible stay my wife and I had this past weekend. The location at this hotel in beyond belief. We were right across the street from Old Downtown Scottsdale, with every type of restaurant and the numerous art galleries available all within a 5 minute walk. We were also less than a 5 minute drive to a public golf course which was a great lay out. You cant get a better location than this in all of Scottsdale. I will admit that even with all of these ammenities the service at the hotel was the highlight of our trip. The manager was an absolute dream. She knew everything about all of Phoenix, not just her surrounding area. Her friendliness was and professionalism was completely shared by all of the staff at this location. We enjoed our stay so much that we are already planning a trip for later this summer and will definitely stay at this property.
