Value and location

Great location for us. The daily happy hour and hot sit-down breakfast really pushes this to a good value. Note that this block of Scottsdale Rd. has Tempe numbered addresses on one side, Scottsdale on other. Quick repair of a minor toilet issue.

Great Place to Stay

I was down in the Phoenix area looking at homes and stayed at the Hospitality Suites. It was a relaxing friendly place to stay and very centrally located. The staff was friendly, the breakfast very good and the pool was very refreshing as well as the free drinks at happy hour. The restaurant, while not the best in food was very convenenient after a long day of traveling around. It's older but very clean and has all the amenities in the room - fridge, microwave, stovetop. Would stay there any time I was in the Phoenix area.

This Place was A NIGHTMARE

I booked a night away for my son (an architec in the valley) and daughter-in-law which also gave me private time with my grandchildren. On the internet this place sounded and looked perfect. Since I am on a very tight and fixed budget, the price was also a factor. They were watching a basketball game on the TV when my son noticed a lopsided fixture and when he touched it, it sent sparks all over the room and all the electricity went out. They went to the desk and a very rude young man called maintenance. When he came to the room and tried to move the fixture it was worse than before. My son went to the desk and the young man got quite bellegerent and told him "what do you expect for $50". When my son tried to talk to him he stated "I only have 2 more weeks to work here so I don't care what you think". They left without staying the night and the Manager has not even offered an apology let alone a refund to my credit card. Since I lived and worked in the Valley for many years and my son has a pretty extensive clientele here we plan on making sure people are informed about this treatment. This place is not even worth the $50 they charge for the least expensive room.

Needed place to stay close to Tempe, Phoenix and Scottsdale. Great access to malls, highways, downtown Tempe and Scottsdale. Clean, nice staff, older hotel but wearing well.

Best deal for the price.

My wife and I travel to Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe several time a year to visit with our kids/grandkids. HSR is the best deal we have found to date. For the price and amenities we were thrilled. As long as we can get the same value we will be repeat customers.

Mid Week Golf trip to Scottsdale

This was a boys trip to Scottsdale for golfing. We're all 40 and and enjoy a beverage or two. Although it was difficult to locate a working payphone at the PHX airport, once found, we were able to quickly contact the Hospitality Suite for pick up. She told us it would take about 45 minutes but she was there in 30. And she was very cute! Anyways, check in was easy. They provide a free safety deposit box (standard size) for valuables. The room was clean but dated. Full size fridge and microwave. We didn't use the stove. We had a one bedroom suite and the bathroom is off the bedroom. Beds were comfortable. Pull out sofa bed was used and confortable enough. Walk in closet with hangers, ironing board and iron. TVs were old but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. They have tennis courts but we did not partake in that activity. Happy hour with free drinks from 5-6:30 was awesome. We used the gas bbq to do up some steaks and chicken while we had some pops. They have ceasars which is unusual for the US but they seem to cater to Canadians (which we are). The pub on site is nothing special but the staff are very friendly. There is a nice sports bar across the street and down the block. They have a pool table and many HD tvs with all of the playoff hockey and basketball games going. We were able to catch the Canucks games. The hotel is right on the border of Tempe and Scottsdale and seemed safe enough. We were walking each night without and fear. The hotel is on the bus route which can take you directly to Old Scottsdale in about 20-30 mins. We also took the bus to two different golf courses. Cost is $1.75 but it might be better to do the all day pass for $5. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic. Bacon or sausage with eggs, toast, hashbrowns, coffee and bottomless OJ. This plus the Happy Hour? It was like they were paying us to stay there! I kept waiting for a time share guy to show up. Check out was quick and the airport shuttle leaves for the airport on the hour. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're not too snobby, need the spa and 600 thread count sheets. You wont get any of those things here.

Favorite Place to Stay

Second time staying at this hotel. Rooms are not the nicest in the area but the amenities more than make up for it. The price is always great as well. It's nice having the kitchen area with a refrigerator and hot plate. The free breakfasts are nice and we always have a blast at the complimentary cocktail reception by the pool. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The hotel in fairly convenient to the Old Scottsdale shopping area where we always like to hang out. We make several trips to the area and this hotel will always be our first choice.

Hawaiians loved the hospitality

This was the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed at, not only is the staff friendly and helpful but so are the other guests. Happy hour is a great idea, all the guests come together to meet each other and have a great time. We also got some great ideas on where to golf and some great sightseeing ideas from the other guests. We used the bar-be-que, which could be replaced with a new one, but it was nice not to have to go out every night to eat. Breakfast was also good, we have never had a free happy hour and breakfast made to order for that price before. Will definitely be going back there again.

Good Value

Quick business trip; good location, convenient to/from airport, although needed to drive to restaurants. This is more of a "no frills" spot, although they do have wireless and a pool which I managed to sit by and grab some sun the one morning I was there. Clean, well maintained, very functional. Excellent value for the price.
