Expensive but nice

Did not take advantage of all the place had to offer but it has to be one of the nicest places in Scottsdale. Proximity to TPC, the pool and th Casitas rooms were fantastic. Very helpful staff and beautiful grounds. If you don't mind the rate the place is great.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Make a reservation at La Hacienda ahead of time because it can get crowded due to happy hour. Everyone must talk to Abeer the "tequila goddess" at La Hacienda who will give you some great information on not just tequila but the great alcohol they serve there. The Don Julio 1942 is a must!! Anyone using the Pheonix super shuttle needs to call at least 24 hrs. in advance to book a reservation. Everyone needs to ride the "choo choo" train.

Fabulous casita and impeccable grounds

This hotel is a desert oasis. I traveled in July on business and had no time to enjoy the lovely pools or tennis courts. But if I'm ever in Phoenix again with a bit more time, I plan to. The property is quite large and I was lucky enough to book a casita 1-bedroom king suite. The casitas come about 6 per stucco "cottage" set back away from the main hotel building, each with an exterior entrance and small balcony. The property also has a separate -- though small -- pool for casita guests. I wish I'd had my spouse with me -- the casita would be perfect for a romantic getaway. The amenities were outstanding. Our business party thoroughly enjoyed the main restaurant. The property has a golf course, a spa, a few shops (found some good gifts for the kids), a few tennis courts, multiple pools (loved the hammocks swinging from trees near one pool), even a jungle gym for little kids. The room was very comfortable. It had a large living room with couch, comfy chair, huge TV, fireplace, and a small table for eating. My only complaint was the lack of a desk, which I would have preferred because I was there on business. Step through a door, and you have a small private balcony with table and chairs to enjoy the scenery. The bedroom was large enough to fit a king bed and arm chair quite comfortably. The tiled bathroom was huge, with a sunken tub, double sinks and long counter, separate shower, and private toilet. The walk-in closet will fit any vacation wardrobe. But my favorite part of the hotel was the grounds. Given that it was July I didn't do much walking, but one morning I was up early enough to beat the heat and spent an hour strolling along walkways, past fountains and ponds and saguaros, watching turtles, fish, and birds frolicking, and otherwise admiring the beautifully maintained landscaping. The only complaints I have are the size of the property and the limited summer hours of the bars and restaurants. The size cannot really be helped, but because no air-conditioned, drink-providing locations were open before 5pm, many of our business meet-ups took place out in the heat. All the lovely sitting areas scattered around the property are simply too miserable to enjoy in 100-degree weather. The place is so big that they have a small fleet of golf carts and bell boys to drive you and your luggage to your room, or give you a ride to or from the front desk/parking lot if you can't or don't want to walk very far. The valet parking is rather expensive, though carries unlimited in in/out privileges and the valet crew is friendly and thoughtful -- always opening windows and cranking up your a/c before delivering your car. As a destination, this hotel is perfect. It's located in a quiet area but close to some main avenues, making travel by car pretty easy. If your business or main activities are in Phoenix itself, plan to spend a little time on the freeway.

Perfect Anniversary Celebration

My husband and I cannot say enough good things to describe our stay. From the moment we entered the lobby to our departure the entire staff were courteous, helpful, attentive to our every need and made us feel like a special welcomed guest. We immensely enjoyed the lovely grounds, the spa and the restaurants. We had a lovely anniversary and was glad we chose the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale. If you have children they are welcome too. The hotel has plenty for them to stay active and entertained.
