Best Western Papago Inn
This place is like a blast from the past! Although it looks like a 1960s era motel, the room doors all face onto the inner courtyard with an aviary and swimming pool, a gazebo, and a swing. There is a clerk on duty who can see from the front desk into the courtyard area. There is a computer room, exercise room, vending room, and laundry room. The rooms have good light for reading, as there are ample lamps. Beds were very comforable. Housekeeping staff were polite and smiling as they went about their duties. Best of all, the Papago Inn is only 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix (in rush hour traffic if you stay off the freeway and use McDowell). And only 5 min from Scottsdale attractions. This place is a keeper!

Rare charm, good location.
A kidney shaped heated pool, a cage of parakeets, palms, and funky accessories make this an experience in the midst of a staff which aims to please and does so.The experience was filled with memorable moments.

Worth It
Quirky retro clean and affordable. Bartender was beyond helpful and nice. I would have gone 5 stars all the way but it took 45 minutes of calls and pushing to get the front desk to honor the exact reservation we made, but she did. I believe this was a one off.

Last minute business trip
Very pleasant place to stay
Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. I usually worry when the reviews call a hotel "charming" but this place turned out to be just that. It is laid out well with rooms facing inside to a very well manicured courtyard and pool. It is obviously well cared for, clean, and had the best bed and pillows of any hotel I have stayed at for some time, including some 4 and 5 star hotels. It isn't fancy but it was very pleasant and served my purpose well. I would definitely stay there again. Only down side is no elevator to get to rooms on 2nd level.

Fantastic family gathering
Visited the area for a family wedding. Checking in the hotel was no problem, room was perfect, bed very comfortable. Everything was great for a short stay. The only problem was the Wi-FI connection. The only time you have better connection is early in the morning for less than 1 yr. The rest of day you have to call the front desk to reboot the connection. Other than that. Perfect
