good location good price

good location with a nice pool area. It also has a great park adjacent to the hotel perfect for a morning jog but also has a skate board park, volley ball, frisbee golf and a golf course. Excellent restaurant attached to the parking lot or take a short walk across the park to a nice pub and grub.

Nicely remodeled hotel

This hotel looks like it was a motel 6 that was upgraded. It was nice, but the area wasn't the greatest. It was outdoor rooms which I'm not sure we were aware of, and we could hear everyone coming and going outside/outside our doors. The rooms were nice, with the 'fridge and microwave in the room was convenient. There is a descent restraunt within walking distance. Overall, it was descent, but maybe I expected more for what we paid.

Not worth the stay

While the location of this MOTEL was convenient for us in visiting family and friends in Scottsdale, the service left a great deal of room for improvement. The cleaning staff was so inconsistent that we had to register comments with the front desk almost every day. From not removing dirty glasses and coffee cups to not knowing what should be left in the room to leaving SIX bottles of shampoo/conditioner when there were still unused bottles in the room. The tiles in the bathroom were loose and had to be repaired as was the toilet paper holder. The fridge froze anything in it.I would not recommend this place at this time.

Wonderful place

This was our last hotel in an 8 day trip and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. Location isn't the best but the convenience to the airport made up for it. Staff was very nice at check in/out. Pool area was great. Must try Sevens restaurant for breakfast that is located next door.

Relaxing vacation

I read many reviews before booking at the 3 Palms and agree about room size being small, but we pretty much just slept there and the bed was very comfortable, so room size didn't present an problem for us. The pool/hot tub area is nice as well, although the hot tub was more of a "warm tub" when we were there. (not quite hot, but still helped to relax tired muscles when the jets were running) There are a handful of restaurants and a grocery store (with Starbucks inside) all within walking distance, which for us was a plus! Also, in the past, we've accidentally booked hotels in "less than safe" areas of various cities, due to not knowing the area. This was thankfully NOT the case at 3 Palms!! Finally, Old Town Scottsdale is just a short 10 min (or less) drive from the hotel, if you like shopping for treasures to take home to family/friends, it's the place to go. We've already decided 3 Palms will be our hotel of choice the next time our travels take us into the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

Motel 8 with a different name

This place is for the young and cheap. The rooms are shabby, dirty, and even thin walled. I could hear my neighbor laughing into the night. Luckily I take Clorox wipes with me. The white comforter had a yellow stain on it. There was something on the walls that wiped off. I don't have the time or energy to describe everything that's wrong with this place. The owner needs to update. Just a little attention might make a big difference. I'll not stay there again and I won't recommend it to my colleagues or anyone else. The staff was helpful is the only compliment I can give.

close to great

Checked in just fine, everything went smooth. Very good, very friendly front desk help. Discovered toilet trouble that night, borrowed a plunger from the maintenance guy and fixed the problem, I thought. Toilet stopped up again the next morning buit I had kept the plunger since the toilet didn't flush as it should. I was a plumber in another life so I knew it would continue to be a problem. Told the front dest guy at 6:30am and even discribed how to fix the issue. Somebody didn't pass along the need for repair so it hadn't been fixed when I got back that evening. Jitara took care of the problem, called the maintenance guy, and decided to give me another room. I'm very glad she was working and they had another room available. There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues with the second room, but not bad enough to complain about. Maintenance team must be overworked, I'm sure they're not just lazy.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

There was a great Japanese street festival in Heritage Park (I think it's called) the weekend of the 23rd and 24th and was only a short drive from the hotel. It was free and fun and better than anything else going on that weekend. I think it's an annual event.
