Amenity-laden Scottsdale boutique hotel next to El Dorado Park
The hotel 3 Palms is just two miles from downtown Scottsdale and is both convenient and opulent. Chic decor touches include padded headboards and handpicked modern art. There is a concierge and tour planning services. High-end room amenities include pillow-top mattresses, free Internet, and DVD and CD players with surround sound. Guests eager for outdoor recreation can spend the day next door at 60-acre El Dorado Park. CONSTANTLY ON THE GO
Business travel hotel
The stay was okay, with the EXCEPTION: THAT ON CHRISTMAS DAY THEY DID NOT SERVIC E THE ROOM. PER MANAGEMENTS LETTER IT STATED THAT ROOMS WOULD NOT BE SERVICED TO LET SERVICE PEOPLE SPEND TIME WITH THEIR FAMILY. I HAVE RUN A B&B AND NEVER RAN INTO A DECISION BY MANAGEMENT, TO HAVE THE GUEST GO UNSERVICED FOR A DAY. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Just an "upgraded" Motel 6
Overall, this hotel was below average and felt like a Motel 6. I was surprised, being that it was in Scottsdale. The photos do not add up to the reality! I stayed for two nights. The bed was creaky and loud every time I moved, the pillows were very lumpy, the middle light in the bathroom did not work, one of the lamp shades was permanently crooked. The shower was poorly redone- it was so hard to pull up the lever for a shower. I ended up leaving it up and water just spilled out of the spout as I took a shower. The staff were young and inexperienced and had no idea about customer service. I worked with three of them and it was like working with high school kids. I did not feel welcome or at ease. There was a couple screaming and fighting outside the first night I was there. It was like I was in a bad part of town. The worst part was that people let their pets use the bathroom right on the lawn that lead up to the stairs to the second floor rooms. The smell of pet waste was most unappealing and the staff did not clean it up. The stairs were stained with old milk and food that people put out to feed the feral cats living in the area. I think it's great that they were being fed, but for goodness sakes, get some cleaner and clean up the filthy stairs. I almost stepped on the plates of milk & food that were shoved halfway under a stair by someone- a potential hazard! What was nice about this place? The only thing that I liked was the central location and I guess that's about what I paid for because there was nothing else that was appealing. If you're looking for a nice, quiet and clean hotel with excellent customer service and a comfortable room, go somewhere else. But if you don't mind all the above items I experienced, then you'll really enjoy this place.
