Hotel St. Michael is known as the cornerstone of Whiskey Row. The hotel is ideally located downtown, right on the courthouse plaza in the culture center of Prescott. Walk to Prescott s best restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping, galleries, museums, fitness center, the town square, the Chamber of Commerce and much more. Try something different, experience history and enjoy the casual and friendly atmosphere of the Hotel St. Michael. The Hotel St. Michael was built in 1901, before the arrival of automobiles in Prescott. Constructed to replace the Hotel Burke, which burned in the great fire of 1900, the new hotel was built complete with Gargoyles around the outside to protect the guests within. The Hotel St. Michael is lovingly known as The Grande Dame of Prescott, the Cornerstone of Whiskey Row. Throughout its colorful history, the Hotel St. Michael has provided lodging to many notables, including Theodore Roosevelt, Billy the Kid, Doc Holiday, the Earps, and more recently, Barry Goldwater, who gave many a political speech in its ballroom. Today, the Hotel St. Michael continues in its tradition of western hospitality with historic ambiance and modern amenities. Guests of the hotel are treated to a complimentary, cooked-to-order, hot breakfast served in the fully restored Caff St. Michael. ***ANY REQUESTS FROM THE PROPERTY REQUIRE YOU TO CONTACT THE PROPERTY DIRECTLY. its a quaint hotel..nothing fancy..the shampoo bottles are WAY tiny..made us laugh! The elevator is so cool and old. the staff was very nice also! we went on a Thursday and didn't realize that most of the resturants close at 7pm on that day...or only take cash. the walking was great! perfect weather in the 70's..found a great little trail to hike behind the hotel and down the block (north of the Bank of America. it was pretty. take comfortable shoes!!! You walk to EVERYTHING!! and my calves still ache 3 days later!! we had a wonderful time!!

Fun Stay

The old elevator added to the fun. the dining room in the hotel was great for breakfast and dinner. You can't ask for a better location. It's fun to get away from the chains and experience a hotel with it's own personality.

Hotel St. Michael, Prescott, AZ

We have eaten excellent breakfasts and lunches at the Hotel St. Michael so we thought we'd try the hotel this time(since we frequently visit Prescott). The checklist above says it all. We love charming historic hotels. This was historic but had no charm whatsoever. We had booked a room overlooking the park and were given an interior room overlooking the heating system. It was a definite "wear your flip-flops in the shower" type of place!

Mini-Vacation

Located on the corner of the courthouse plaza, it is within walking distance of Whiskey Row, antique stores, coffee shops, boutiques, etc. This is not a modern hotel filled with all of the modern conveniences, however, it does provide a place of quiet and solitude for the weary traveler. If you are looking for a modern hotel, go down the road to one of the cookie cutter hotels found everywhere. If you are looking for something different, stay a few days here!
