I had read the great reviews but honestly this is a place that you must experience to appreciate. From the moment you drive ... up the impressive drive until the moment you leave- they truly treat you like royalty. Our room (Montasvista suite) was beautiful and well appointed with a view of Camelback Mountain that was amazing. Every person who works at the hotel was friendly and helpful without being condescending. Much praise has been heaped on T. Cooks here and in many other forums - just know that the praise is justified. From breakfast to dinner- the food and service are first rate. The grounds are enchanting and lovely and we cannot wait to experience The Royal Palms again.

After a long conference in the city of Phoenix i changed over to this little gem for a day of relaxation. That and more is ... what I got. super friendly staff and service that remembered me even though I stayed less than 24 hours. the pool is small but well designed and really all you need to hang.. if you want an Olympic size one, this is not the place for it. In the evening the restaurant provided innovative cuisine and the attached lounge had live music that was just perfect for the setting. Even though I do not see myself travel to Phoenix in the near future, if I do, I will stay here!

Need to stay here...

Definitely not the cheapest place to stay, but worth every penny. The best room I've ever stayed in. Bathroom was spacious ... and had everything you would look for in a first class room. Definitely spend the extra money and get a terrace with your room. It was great to walk out of your room onto a private terrace that was attached to a large common patio with several sitting areas that had fire places going in the evening. Pool and pool service helped you lose yourself from the real world.

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Palms. They met my every need. They were friendly and helpful whenever I need directions or ... ideas for shopping, restaurants or entertainment. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing and they have a world class spa right there on the premises! If you go ask about the amenities you are allow to enjoy at the spa free of charge, the steam room, the jacuzzi, etc. I would highly recommend the Royal Palms!

Private yet welcoming and warm
RM Oct 28, 2009
Arrived on site to find several valets with upbeat friendly attitudes. First impression was very quaint and a little smaller ... than originally thought. This became one of the reasons I found it so comfortable in the end. The staff was overwhelmingly courteous and friendly. The hotel was completely booked and yet we never had the feeling of being over crowded or noise problems. Also didn't get the feeling of being ignored or overwhelming to the staff. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and lushish with greenary and flowers. Was a little disappointed that the fountains outside our room were not running due to the fact they were doing some work on them. Also did the botanical massage and wish I had done just a massage that lasted a little longer. The botanical is great if you like to just sit alone in peace and quite but the outdoor shower was cold. Could have been because I was the last patron for the day but was disappointed. My one glass of wine was complimentary because of the shower and I didn't have to ask for the courtesy but would rather have had a longer massage in the end. Every one was more than willing to help with any questions or requests. The entire staff seems as if they enjoy their job and helping each and every guest. Overall this is one of the better places I have ever stayed. Very pleased and didn't want to leave. One or two disappointments but the surprisingly nice staff and beautiful and peaceful environment made up for the few disappointments. The ground were so beautiful and made you feel comfortable, relaxed as well as the feeling of soclution. You are located within a short drive from great shopping, night life and restaurants in Scottsdale.

meowdoc Oct 20, 2009
This was our second visit to Royal Palms (last visit 5/2007). The resort has only improved since our prior trip, expect to be ... catered to and treated like royalty here... which of course comes at a price, an additional $25/day amenities fee. We appreciated the fact that we didnt have to tip everyone...but on days that we were offsite most of the day in the Grand Canyon/Sedona/etc, we were essentially paying gratuities to the staff for no extra service. We have every intention of returning next year.. have a great trip!

Fabulous place for couples, not set up for families or small children. Monta Vista Terrace is nice, but suggest asking for ... one of the cornor suites as they have more room. All reviewers are correct, pool is small, but only a problem on the weekend and service is outstanding. Spa was fantastic - the Acqua Dolce Ritual is a must for any couple. Must eat at T Cooks, but also try Lon's at the Hermosa and Elements at Sanctuary. We will be back to the Royal Palms, love all the small intimate cornors of the property.

Nicest Place we have ever stayed
M3 Sep 23, 2009
The Royal Palms is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed at. The service is wonderful. From the minute we pulled up ... to the minute we left staff were available to assist us. As soon as you enter the pool area someone brings you water and a towel for your lounge. As soon as you drive through the gates someone opens your car door and assists you to your room. The spa is wonderful as is the restaurant. Best of all are the gardens and views. This is a magical place to be savored. We stayed for a week and wanted to stay forever.
