family vacation

What a great resort. We had read some negative reviews but they were wrong. From start to finish it was a fabulous escape. The staff was amazing. We wanted popcorn one night and the gift shop was closed so we bought some popcorn but realized the microwave was in the gift shop area. We asked at the desk if they could pop it for us....well within 5 minutes we had our own microwave brought to our room. The pools are wonderful and the lazy river complex gives the kids non stop fun. Only two suggestions....put up signs at the smaller pools that say no reserving chairs and at tombstone send servers more frequently. Overall it was wonderful...thank you !!!

Spring Break Special

We stayed at the Point Hilton Squaw Peak Resort for two nights while on our family spring break. It was a fantastic deal. The hotel was nice. The water park was enough. It isn't great, just one water slide, but there is enough there to keep the kids happy. Everything there was very nice. It isn't a 5 star place by any means, but for $170 a night it was a fantastic value. We had some of our friends come over and meet us and they have two children, also. When the 11 year old boy came in he asked his parents how we always find the good hotels! It is a hidden gem in a decent area. I highly recommend it!!!

Nice getaway

Had a great time. Room was kept clean and staff was friendly. Easy access to most places. Down sides were small, but here they are. Late night swimming in big pool required walking to spa and through the building which is a ways when late and wet. Would be nice to use gate by the rooms. At the price qouted per for upgraded rooms such as the Casita rooms, free wi-fi would be nice. Could use regular access just fine outside of the room, but not in. Maybe a small continental breakfast as well. Overall, had a great time.

Taken by Con Artists

This Hotel uses it's resort-like amenities - pool w/slide, driving range, miniature golf, etc. - to attract it's customers but you don't find out until you check in that they charge extra to use them. This nearly doubled the quoted cost of the stay and royally angered us, ruining our vacation. The staff, however, was nice.

Adult waterpark on resort grounds

It was amazing. . .reminded me of Saipan at the PIC hotel. . .good times going down lazy river with a jack and coke. . .however, some adults are still idiots with the littering and watching their children around water. Hotel room itself was nice and quaint, but hard to find since it was attached to the suites. The room was clean and security was adequate, however there were these small ants in the bed. A few, so they might have been on me when I got into bed. They were small black ants. Saw some earlier in the evening at a friends suite. They were infested in there, but in a contained area. Staff was excellent, when asking change for the vending machine for water, they gave me 4 bottles as complimentary along with the change. Compared to some of my previous hotels, this resort is really nice and hidden. Hardly any traffic. Very remote. Security could patrol more to keep inebriated guests inline to maintain the serene atmosphere of the resort property.

Good place.

I've stayed at the Pointed several times over the last 20 years. While it is aging somewhat, they have kept it up very well. GREAT pool area. GREAT location. Definitely recommended. Incredible bargain in August.
