I was actually pretty impressed. This place was just like the picture. The only thing that i didn't like was the fact that ... since my room was right across from the elevator i kept hearing the ding. But that is really no big deal, i could have just turned the volume on the telvision up. Overall i was happy with my stay, the staff was friendly and responsive. The location was close to everything and if it wasn't the freeway was right there to take you.

This hotel was tucked away from the freeway, yet close enough for the map-challenged to find. The front-desk people were ... always helpful, which was great. We arrived later than expected, but I called to let them know, and they held the room without a problem. The next night, I needed scissors, and the front-desk person loaned a pair to me for more than two hours. When we checked out, we had lots of cardboard and paper debris, which she kindly took care of for us. The room was perfect for our trip, where we were handling lots of materials and staging/packing/working, as well as relaxing. The room is partly divided, with a giant sectional sofa and ottoman and desk and wet bar on one side, and a comfy bed on the other side. Lots of closet/drawer/shelf space as well, but we didn't use it. Would've loved to see in-room recycling, a wee tube of hand lotion in the room, morning newspapers provided, and a breakfast that included more protein, but at this price, I won't be too picky. The weekend went better than I expected, partly because I slept well, and I credit this great hotel! Next time, I'll try to catch a later flight and sleep in a little longer.

Spent most the time with my family at my sister's house. Even though the hotel is next to the freeway the rooms are very ... quiet. The one time it is a problem is at the pool. Small pool that is outside next to the freeway. Also no hot tub! The pillows are very comfortable, got a good night sleep.

The rooms were clean and big. However the hotel itself was in a bad location if you don't have a car and need to walk to ... places. There is only one restaurant near by. The hotel also did not have any vending machines or gift shop to purchase those little things you forgot like toothpaste etc. It was a nice place to stay for two days but anything longer then the weekend - no way.

Quiet and cute hotel, great price
AVA May 24, 2009
A small, clean and attractive hotel with basic amenities that delivers what is advertised. If you're looking for a pleasant ... home base during your travels, Hyatt Grand will satisfy your needs; if you want a resort with on-site spa and souvenir stores, this place is too small. Recommended for work trips (free wireless and printing) and those seeking quiet, modern accommodations. Complementary continental breakfast (cereals, fruits and coffee are free but hot omelets cost extra) and extended pool hours (6am-10pm) are very convenient for business travelers and families with children. Hotel located in a quiet commercial district but near miniature golf attraction. Free parking. Friendly and polite staff show great pride in their hotel-- a good sign-- and are willing to help (ex: shipped to CA items that my husband and I forgot to pack).

We were only spending one night to get a plane out the next morning. I had make my reservation at the Hyatt in downtown ... Phoenix by mistake. When I got to the Hyatt Tempe Airport they let me use their facilities to get my reservation changed thru my reservation agent and saved a room for us.They also contacted the other hotel to notify them I needed to change my reservation. Everyone was very professional and helpful. the rooms were very nice, but there was no private area for changing clothes. Near ASU campus so lots of restaurants within 2 miles. no restaurant. continental breakfast only

I was on a business trip. The hotel is in a great location, just off interstate 17. Clean and quite even though it was ... directly beside the interstate. Great TV, free internet access, free breakfeast and starbucks coffee. Spacious room. My second time at a Hyatt Place and I will continue to look for them when traveling. For the money, this place is almost perfect.

Car Crazy Apr 22, 2009
We came to attend a NASCAR race. That was great as was a short trip to the Grand Canyon! Room was very comfortable and well ... appointed. Had a problem Sunday morning when a tour bus was allowed to load passengers just outside the back door of the hotel at 6:30 am. There was a lot of noise heard in our 3rd floor room. The bus exhaust was 10 feet from the main air intake for the hotel so both bus fumes and cigarette smoke was VERY NOTICABLE in the room. A request to resolve the problem was ignored.

The Continental Breakfast is more than the normal coffee and a sweetroll. It was a nice spread with "extras for a fee" to fill in for the hungry tiger in the family.

After a long drive, check-in was speedy and very pleasant. The service was overall perfect. The room was just right, the ... continental breakfast was wonderful and check-out was a breeze. This is the second time my son and I stayed here to attend the NASCAR race at PIR. This was by far the best hotel with the best environment with a great price that I've stayed at. I compared places closer to the track and nothing else compares. I am already planning our visit for next April 2010 and we will be staying here again. Thank you!
