The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. But the rooms are dated and the beds were not the most comfortable either. The ... sheets seem to be old and so were the towels.

Me and my girlfriend were in town for a wedding and we had a good time staying at the Grace Inn Hotel. The bed was very ... comfortable, being able to control just how much A/C we wanted was fantastic. The first night we went to the pool and hot tub for about two hours. We especially like the hot tub. The stay was quiet, which we enjoyed. Our room had a view of the Southern Mountain Range which was nice especially at sunset. We also ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, good size meal and very tasty for only $4. Very good experience.

The lobby made you think the hotel was nicer than the rooms actually were. It was fine but old and needed some ... redecoration. I liked the gym pass to Gold's gym--much more to choose from than a hotel gym. The restaurant was okay, not great. I enjoyed the pool area.

close to the freeway

I had no trouble getting in and out of the area to drive to tempe and downtown phoenix. the hotel is located immediately off ... the freeway and near shopping and eating locations both north and south of the freeway.

A disappointment

I chose the hotel for the location which is between my daughter's and son's apartments. We arrived late, and I had called ... for late check in. The girl at the desk couldn't answer any of my questions concerning some needed locations. The next day I tried to arrange their van service to the airport for the morning of check out and it did not start as early as we needed. I would have to have a taxi. The evening before I arranged a taxi, and if my husband had not been with me I would not have taken the taxi--the driver was unkempt, the door handles were missing from the interior, and the meter was unreadable. I will choose another motel on my next visit. The restaurant was empty the one morning that we ate there, and the service was poor, and the selection dismal. Our room was above the bar area and it was noisy the one night the bar was open. I will be very surprised if this motel is still in business by my next trip to visit the kids, but I will be choosing another in the same vicinity.

I depend on a place to dine in and to have a few drinks then go up to my room. I didn't know that the bar was not open on ... weekends or that the restaurant was only open for breakfast or only for room service. Other than that the Grace Inn was a clean place and the room was set up clean and very useable with a king bed and a small kitchen and a desk. The location was off I-10 and access to anywhere. There was also a few small restuarants close by and a walgreens.

The Grace Inn's location made it easy to get to and to be near all the attraction that had interested us. The room was nice ... but the shower lacked water pressure which made it hard to shower quick. This could have been just that room don't know, did not bother us enough to complain. Also noticed thay did not clean well under and behind the bed other than that it seemed fine.

No frills.

After I checked in and walked down the hall to take the elevator to my room it was apparent this was an older hotel that ... hadn't been kept up. They needed new carpeting and the walls needed painting. My hotel room was nice and clean. However, the bed was not very comfortable. The lounge was closed Saturday evening, which dissapointed me. Front desk staff is at the counter less than half the time and there is no bell available to get their attention.

Good hotel, but dining disappointment

My stay at Grace Inn would have been a pleasurable experience, but for Mathew's Restaurant. On my first morning, I ... came downstairs and walked over to the restaurant at 10:30 AM. The hours of operation listed was till 11:00 AM. To my dismay, I found the restaurant was closed. Upon inquiring, I was told by the Bell Captain, the restaurant closed early due to the lack of clientele. The following morning, I woke up and decided to try and order room service. Once again I was disappointed after my search of every single drawer and the closet. I could only find one bible in a night stand and 3 phone books in the closet. When I informed the front desk. I was told that there was supposed to be a binder in every room. The binder contained information on the various amenities available, operational instructions for various electronic equipment and a complete menu for room service, plus the hours of operation for the dining room, room service and the cocktail lounge. Incidentally, the lounge was closed at 9:50 PM on Saturday night!

The hotel is more than twenty years old. It looks old and feels old. My room was large and somewhat comfortable. But it was ... very inconvenient not to have internet servise available in the room. The swimming pool is very big and the pool area quite nice. I ate only one time in the hotel restaurant, I had breakfast and the food was not very good. The hotel is conveniently located in a nice area and right off of the highway. But, not very closed to the airport.

The Grace Inn is a older resort hotel that has been kept in good repair. The central outdoor area with large swimming pool, ... hot whirlpool, tables under a balcony, and potted trees was very inviting and very popular with families. The inside lobby was ornate in a southwest style, with a central fountain. A gift shop and a computer room opened off the lobby. Someone was at the front desk 24 hours a day. All staff were helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. On the negative side, there were no snack machines (except for sodas and water) on the floors. There was an ice machine, but no ice bucket in the room. There was a small refrigerator in the room, but no ice trays. We did not visit the hotel restaurant. The only nearby restaurant was a McDonald's. Our end of the floor was accessed only by a service elevator, which was okay. The nicest thing about the room was its balcony, which overlooked the pool area. Beds were comfortable, AC was operational, lighting and bathroom were average, art on walls was interesting (Southwest Indian motif). We felt very safe and welcome there during our stay.
