Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Phoenix

My daughter and I went to Phoenix for my son's graduaion from medical school. We chose to stay at a Fairfield Inn because of a package including a rental car. The facility is nice and well kept. With that said, housekeeping seems to be very lax when it comes to room cleaning. We needed to get back into our room, which remained un cleaned at 3pm. Breakfast this morning ( our last day) was a bit of an issue. One waffle maker (out of 2) was broken. I waited to make my waffle and as I was waiting another guest asked where the syrup was. I did not see any. She went to look for some, with her hot waffle cooling off on the table. Mine had just finished when a woman came around and was cleaning up and replenishing items. I asked her for syrup. She gave me a cup of waffle batter. I said no, we need syrup for the waffle and I played a game of charades with her. She remained clueless. My waffle turned cold and my temper heated up. I informed her that she needed to speak English if she was to be in an area where guests would be prone to need help. At this time, a woman named [...] came from the front dest and told me that I was rude and could be banned from the hotel, which I was leaving anyway. I think it is the hotels responsibility to hire English speaking employees who are able to take care of their guests needs. Needless to say I will not go back to this facility.

Had to waite on airport shuttle to hotel, check in was a little slow, but staff was very nice. The room was cleaned by someone who decided to take a smoke break and forgot to clean up after themselves and the air was broken... maintence had already left..so it was a little warm in the room. The front desk clerk tried his best to fix air and it did run for awhile. It was fixed 1st thing the next morning and everything was fine for remainder of trip. The pool was wonderful and hotel had free shuttle downtown if needed, but I rode the light rail with little if no difficulty and it was more convienent.

Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location for business visit. Serves a light breakfast. Stayed there before and will most likely stay there again.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Free internet was a plus. The hotel manager called us to make sure the room met our needs, which it did.

The hotel was attractive, rooms well appointed and quiet. Friendly staff. HOWEVER, I stayed at the hotel because of it's proximity to a hospital a relative was a patient at. This happened to be over the Christmas holidays. I called the hotel direct before I booked the package to BE SURE shuttle service would be provided Christmas Eve and day. Was told yes it would be available. NOT!! There was a sign as I checked in, that said the shuttle would not be available Christmas Eve or Day. And not listed on the sign was that the driver went home for the day at 3pm Dec. 23! I had to pay $10 for a taxi to and from the hospital each day, an additional $60 to the package. It put a real downer on a very depressing Christmas anyway, visiting a sick brother to pay more for what was advertised (and directly told to me) by the hotel. I would not trust the hotel staff to give info about shuttle service.

A fine hotel in central Phoenix - the local wildlife is a little rough around the edges but the location is tough to beat. Family loved the little pool and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Great staff that is helpful. The hotel was very clean and had everything I needed such as microwaves, irons, and a fridge. Right next to restaurants and gas stations.

We stayed at the hotel because it was not far from the airport and there was a shuttle available. We enjoyed the pool, great service, clean and roomy room and the service was great. We would stay there again.

The hotel is centrally located, next to the light rail. Clean and well kept; I even walked on the carpted floor with my shoes off! Safe; I'm a single woman traveling and that's important. Amble parking. Everyone working there is friendly and helpful. For the price, it was a great deal for me.
