Extended stay

The rooms are shabby and they only give you soap. The guests are rowdy and old, so if you need to sleep don't stay here. given the price, I'm not sure you can complain too much about the sundries, but if you can't get to sleep before 1am what's the point. I have had this experience at another Extended Stay in Phoenix.

Horrible Experience

Our first impression of the company was given by an unprofessional Security Guard sitting on the ground outside the office doors immersed in his laptop. He did not stir from his seat on the concrete nor look up from his screen when my husband walked to the door to check in at midnight. We were rang in and assisted at the front desk by a disheveled looking employee with holes in her shirt and appeared to have just woken from sleep. Feeling uneasy about the lack of professionalism we took our room key soley due to the fact we happened to have a fussy 9 month old baby traveling with us. Upon entering the room we became even more disappointed! The floor was in need of cleaning as well as the toilet and the fridge had crumbs from who knows how long. Worst of all, every sheet and pillowcase was stained. Requesting a new room was the most infuriating portion of our stay. Upon trying to change rooms, we arrive at the office doors once again to find the Security Guard still mesmerized by the contents on his laptop and after fifteen minutes of calling the front desk we cannot find employee Mary on the radio to let us in. it took several tries of knocking on the front and back door before finally catching her attention and were able to switch rooms. Then when we arrive to our new room, the keys did not work! My husband goes back ONCE AGAIN for assistance only to receive a look of annoyance from the Guard and he tells us "She's gonna be mad that we keep bugging her, she's trying to do laundry." I'm sorry, I did not know that employee duties are more important than customer satisfaction! we arrived at midnight and did not settle comfortably into a barely acceptable room until a little over an hour later. Would not stay again due to the service we received and would not recommend due to the poor upkeep of the rooms. Invest in new sheets and comforters for all, even the pillowcases, have visible unremoved stains. Update the chairs in the rooms because the seem to have mold in the creases, change the awful wallpaper and get better lighting because it is a disgusting yellow hue. Then lastly room service should be done everyday not only if you are staying eight days.

NASCAR Fan haven !

As a NASCAR fan, my wife and I enjoy attending some races each year. And with the cost of things ever rising, we always look for the best value. At Extended Stay America, we have always found an excellent value for our money. Of all the Extended Stay visits we have had in the past, this one I will rate as the BEST we have had. From check-in to check-out, it was everything one could expect to receive for the money, bar none ! It is very easy to find, easy access from the highway, convenient to PIR, about 23 miles ( all interstate), has quality dining available within 2 miles either direction. But now to the real value of this hotel. The reservations were very easy to make and confirm, enough said. When we arrived to check-in, we were greeted by Lupita, and a great smile and a genuine " Welcome, May I help you ?" Check in was easy, and she answered all my questions about local food/groceries, etc. And then she proceeded to draw us a map to them ! We went to our room, which was clean and well lit, had a full size fridge, 2 burner stove, micro, dishwasher too ! Nice LG tv. We had the King bed with a sleeper sofa suite. Nice bathroom and dressing area, well lit also. They offered a light breakfast for those that wanted a quick breakfast on the go, good coffee and muffins, snack bars, and fresh fruit as well. The grounds keeper was a very pleasant man to chat with. Always had a smile and a nice Hello for you. And, he was a Carl Edwards fan ! Very helpful with information also. The manager, Lori, was a real life saver for me as well. I had a senior moment when making the reservation, and had us checking our 1 day earlier than our flight home ! Well, she was super helpful in extending our stay, in our original room, at the already full hotel ! It was so nice to know that she really cared about her customers ! She also went through a lot of trouble to find and print our airline boarding passes as well. Never lost her can do attitude ! Yes, I am impressed with this hotel that could ! I do recommend Extended Stay America to anyone traveling in this area for an extended time, knowing that you will not be disappointed with the quality or service.

Great place at the right price!

We wanted an inexpensive option for spring training. This was the place! The king room was large and had been updated in the last year. We were a bit disappointed in the mattress - it was a soft and probably should be replaced. The pool was a bonus as well as the fitness room. Be aware that the office is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. There is a phone for late arrivals, but it did not work for us. We had to bang on the door. I would suggest calling the hotel in advance if you are going to arrive after the office closes. ~~ Great location right off of I-17 - easy to get anywhere in the Phoenix area.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a wonderful miniature golf and amusement park just south of the hotel near Metro Center Mall. We had a great time playing miniature golf there!

Wanted more for the money

I honestly just wanted more for the money. There is a bike trail and park adjacent to the hotel property. A dollar for coffee and you have to pay extra for any kind of maid service. $25/night for our dog was a bit high. We moved after 3 days to a hotel down the street that only charged $30/week for our dog and provided clean towels daily.
