Extended Stay America-Phoenix-Airport-E. Oak St.

The staff was helpful and very accomodating, the room was alright but I noticed the bedding did not smell clean as I could smell the sweat of others on all my pillowcases-and my mother and myself itched as though we had dustmites on us. The desk said it probably was the chemicals in the soap used for washing the bedding-I was not totally convinced. The extra hidabed did not have any bedding on it at all -so we found a bare mattress when we pulled it out? We had 3 in our party and this was unpleasant at midnite when we needed to sleep. It has a dishwasher and rotating tv for sitting on a couch or watching from the 2 beds that were adequate and a bit larger than a double bed. The flooring was nice and bath area was great. The hotel is average-if you just want to sleep and want to save money-its okay. The pool is small but nice- it is not a great area for safety after nine p.m. as its close to the airport and people drinking around the pool. My daughter was wanting to swim but the drunk men sitting at the poolside table were the deciding factor for her not to be able to go at nite and that was quite disappointing for her. So if you need a decent place to save money and be close to the airport - this would work.

Quiet enough, friendly staff, only problem was someone had smoked in what was supposed to be a non smoking room and they charged for internet although they traded with us for the smoke.

This was my first trip to Phoenix.AZ. I enjoyed my stay. Room was very clean, Service was good ,close by to retail & grocery stores and was quiet.

The hotel was comfortable, but could have been cleaner. There was some kind of greasy spill on the night stand that was very obvious. The floor was dirty as well..my socks got black!

If you are looking for clean but not absolutely perfect, this is the place for you. It will accomododate people traveling for business purposes and traveling for short stays, or long stays but needing economy but not wanting to sacrifice cleanliness. It's not the best but it's not the worst either. Good value for the money spent. (If you need to make overseas calls, bring your own calling card!!!)

I would stay here again. It had everything I needed to have a safe, comfortable stay. The location was good for getting to Johns-Hopkins and area restaurants too.

Hotel was semi-clean we found a lighter on the side of the bed. Carpet was in need of a cleaning. Lock was not exactly what I would call secure and the neighborhood could be either/or. No continental breakfast - close to Target though so you could pick up something. Room needs updates. The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful. He helped with directions and helping me with a load of clothes that needed drying and their dryer wasn't working!! Non-smoking hotel (or so I thought) but you could smell it everywhere. The biggest benefit? Short drive to the airport.

We travel very frequently (10-14 times a year) for figure skating competitions and tennis tournaments. Quite often we stay at Extended Stay properties and we will in the future. I believe that this one bad experience is a reflection on how this particular property is maintained and not a reflection on the chain itself. From the outside this is an attractive hotel. The woman who checked us in (and checked us out) was very helpful and welcoming. The problems started when we got to our room. One night we were awakened at 2 a.m. because the smell was so bad it was if someone was smoking IN our room. What we found was that the smell was coming through the air vent in the bathroom. The first morning when I went to make coffee, I found that the carafe to the coffeemaker was missing. Housekeeping never got around to getting me one. Thankfully, there's a McDonald's only a block away that has GREAT coffee. Another irritation was that on two occasions our keys stopped working (no, they were not anywhere near our cell phones). On both nights the same young man was on duty and was clearly annoyed that he had to come out of the back room and help us. I have no idea what he was doing but he definately was not at the front desk where he should have been. I was not the only guest that had trouble getting service from him. If we had been staying a week (as we usually do), I would have moved to a different hotel after the first night. Since we were only there for two nights we stuck it out.

The room was comfortable. The staff was extremely informational, friendly and took the time to answer any question I had.
