Just good enough

We had a great time in the Phoenix area going to Cactus League games and generally enjoying the warm weather. The hotel was overall just fine with no dramatic complaints. The good: The best was the price - it was a great value especially for the size of the room. The hotel is very conveniently located about a mile and a half north of the airport and just down the street from a Target, a grocery store and several restaurants. The two bed plus pull out room was large enough for three grown men to not feel cramped or penned in. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean when we arrived. The high speed internet was fine, but did require frequent logging in. It was fast enough to stream video, though. The shuttle bus to the airport was friendly and convenient. The bad: One thing we did want to do was to watch the NCAA basketball tournament. The TV's coaxial jack was loose making the picture vary from great to unwatchable any time someone jostled the tv. Also, the tv only had about 20 channels and truTV wasn't one of them so if there was a game we wanted to see on that, we had to go out. The room often smelled musty, especially late in the day so we spent much of the evenings with the door open, which is fine in March but might be problematic when it was hot out. Coffee pot didn't work and the toilet clogged twice, but not horrible inconveniences. Overall: A great value and as long as you're not expecting perfection its a good stay.

Remember that ESA hotels don't provide the same regular maid and cleanup service that most hotels provide and other than a bar of hotel soap and a couple of rolls of toilet paper, no other toiletries. Make use of the nearby shopping center to pick up shampoo, paper towels and everything else you need.

One Night Stay

We requested for a non-smoking room with two double beds when we booked it. When we arrive, we were given smoking room with one double bed. My wife and child had to sleep on the sofa bed.

Good time in Phoenix

Attended BCS National Championship Game. Did not spend much time at the hotel other than to sleep. Our flight was delayed 6 hours and we arrived at the hotel at 4:00 am and the staff was still ready for us. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff at the front desk were very helpful with directions and other suggestions for a great time in Phoenix.

Not good.

Nothing to recommend this except close to airport. Cockroach in kitchen. Had to pay as much for wifi for one night as would to stay for a month. Several things missing from room... most notably a phone. Even though we were paying for 2 rooms we were not allowed to check our other family members in ahead of time, so they had to rouse night person when they arrived at midnight... well after the office closed and shuttle stopped. Bad acoustics. TV would not turn off or on except by crawling under table to take plug in or out. And so it went.....

No Maid service.

No maid service so get ready to clean house while your there. If you want new linens or towels, you have to carry them to the front desk for an exchange. Don't forget your dish soap and make sure you look for the outside trash bins.

Very good value for money

We, my husband, my sister and I subscribe to Arizona Opera performances, which occur five times a year. We live in northern Arizona and are very happy to have found this reasonably priced hotel, which is very conveniently located and and well equiped for our stays. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Not what I expected

The staff was helpful and very accomodating, the room was alright but I noticed the bedding did not smell clean as I could smell the sweat of others on all my pillowcases-and my mother and myself itched as though we had dustmites on us. The desk said it probably was the chemicals in the soap used for washing the bedding-I was not totally convinced. The extra hidabed did not have any bedding on it at all -so we found a bare mattress when we pulled it out? We had 3 in our party and this was unpleasant at midnite when we needed to sleep. It has a dishwasher and rotating tv for sitting on a couch or watching from the 2 beds that were adequate and a bit larger than a double bed. The flooring was nice and bath area was great. The hotel is average-if you just want to sleep and want to save money-its okay. The pool is small but nice- it is not a great area for safety after nine p.m. as its close to the airport and people drinking around the pool. My daughter was wanting to swim but the drunk men sitting at the poolside table were the deciding factor for her not to be able to go at nite and that was quite disappointing for her. So if you need a decent place to save money and be close to the airport - this would work.

Check non smoking rooms for smoke

Quiet enough, friendly staff, only problem was someone had smoked in what was supposed to be a non smoking room and they charged for internet although they traded with us for the smoke.
