Neat place - overall good experience

All in all, my visit to The Clarendon was very good. Should I return, I would spend the extra few dollars to get a room away from the pool. It's an echo chamber and there was a screaming child that caused chills up my spine. This was certainly not the hotel's fault... the staff was great and the overall experience was very good. I'd definitely consider returning.

Close to Downtown- looks scary 70's style retro-ish

This place is kind of deceiving. The pictures(online) are deceiving as well. Its looks scary from the outside(kind of is)- but its ok once you get in. This place is way over-rated and over priced for the quality of the place. The staff is very eccentric. Look at the pictures well before you decide to stay here. oh yeah- the hotel luxury fee (yes, unavoidable) not worth it here.

Hipster Hotel USA

It was really fun, but they put a heated oil air freshener on full blast, so potent i could taste it. I could have gone without that and a little more scrubbing in the room. staff was awesome though, and had a great time. the roof top deck is aweeeesome. go to the drive through liqour store and go sit up there for hours!

Everything was outstanding and a refreshing experience for us! One tip for the Hotel: Polish the trademark (between the pool and Jacuzzi it should sparkle like everything else. My next room is already booked and I will be staying with this hotel again next week.

Disappointed

The staff was pleasant and very helpful. However, having to pay a 20.00 fee (we did not use the phone, nor was there a mini bar for snacks) each day for a service fee disqualifies any discount benefit. So I could have spent 240.00 at a nicer hotel. There was no room service, no bible, no pens or paper to write with and no complimentary breakfast. The snack bar amounted to us choosing a bag of chips out of a basket….I honestly feel cheated. It was not what I expected based on the pictures and advertisements online.

over rated

Although they have made a valiant effort, it s still an old hotel. You can paint it all the funky colors you want, its still on the shabby side. The staff tries to be helpful, but its a bit on the loud side, house keeping wasn't the best. AND, it was the first time I ve ever been charged an additional 20 dollar daily service charge, on top of the base cost. I m still not real certain what that 20 got me.
