Candlewood Suites PHOENIX

We didn't take advantage of gyms, pool, spa, so couldn't comment on those. Suite had separate bedroom with door which I always like. My only suggestions for improvements would be technological. It's 2010, time to lose the 4x3 CRT's in favor of some LCD's. And wireless was only available as Ethernet. There is no "business center" with a way to print anything.

The second I walked into the room, a strong smell of cigarettes hit me in the face. I opened the window and kept the door open to try to air it out, but no improvement. Next, I pulled back the sheets on the bed, and there was a flying ant type of bug on the pillow. It was dead, but didnt make me want to jump into bed and sleep. The room just looked old. There were marks on the walls and paint peeling in certain areas. I was kind of grossed out the entire time I was in the room (which was only 1 night) and couldnt wait to leave. Another thing is that other hotels of this class include complementary breakfast, but this hotel simply has a room where you have to pay for things off the shelf. Lastly, the people that stay here seemed to young and loud. Price was cheap though, and the staff were sooooooo nice. Really.

Room was spacious and had great ammenities. We didn't have a chance to take advantage of the fitness room, pool or free laundry; but we appreciated the free movie rentals, coffee/tea, and food pantry. I would recommend staying here, the location was very convenient for us.

We went to Phoenix to look at a house we wanted to buy. This hotel was the best that we have ever stayed at, couldn't ask for anything better!!!! Free dvd's at office, complete kitchen with microwave, fridge, stove, dishes, silverware they even had a pantry by the office where you could buy food to prepare. Nice pool , hot tub, laundry room, they even had bbq grills that you could use!! Excellent stay !!!

Good location for access to many restaurants. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Friendly staff assisted us in printing flight boarding pass when we departed. Bathroom door got in the way of the sink.

The location was great and easy excess on and off the interstate. Like the laundry room especially when it was free to wash and dry your clothes. Has a lot of great restaurants in walking distants. the room was ok I'm a non-smoker and ended up in a smoker's room and the smell was awful even my clean clothes smelled like smoke!! Was not happy about that. Other than that I would go back to that hotel, I liked the room and the layout of it( except that it smelled awful)and the location of the hotel.

Check-in staff was helpful and friendly, great, comfortable room for short stay, clean and all appliances worked for morning coffee and ice. easy access to Hwy 17. Little tricky to find the first time, so call and listen to the recorded directions on your way in and you will have no problems!

I travel weekly and usually do not stay at candlewoods. This was a personal trip visitng friends. I was very pleased with the entire experience. They have far more amenities that I usually have when traveling for work (free DVD library, etc) I would stay there again. The price was unbelievable (low).
