I correct his error by questioning him and he felt bad and decided to up grad me. I thought that was great, but little did i know his upgrade was actually a down grade. The one thing this hotel is missing is snacks/soda machines. The ONLY way to obtain a drink is through room service. So if you are there either alone or with children - and someone wakes up thirsty - be prepared to order a juice or soda via room service - wait 35 min, and pay $7.00 for it. I wanted a drink at 10pm and asked about getting one - and room service for a soda was the ONLY option.

Great place for families
Calie Mama Sep 8, 2009
This was our first visit to Arizona and we came here for my cousin's wedding. We traveled around Labor Day Weekend and ... decided to stay 2 nights, totaling about $230+ for a king sized bed. When we arrived, we were greeted by a super friendly staff who immediately whisk you away to your room. Upon entering the room, I noticed that everything was new and clean. There was a coffee maker, dry cleaner, lots of towels, a very clean bed. We had our infant w/ us and noticed that they had a service where they would deliver cribs to your room if you needed it (which is great if you don't want to lug one on an airplane). There are three villas which are somewhat connected, a waterpark somewhat in the middle, and the lobby was quite far from our villa so they made it a point to call for transportation if needed (golf cart). I've noticed a lot of families here which was great, our daughter had her first swimming experience here and the pools were very clean. A resort fee is charged every day you are here which is about $30/person. When you have lots of people w/ you, that can get quite pricey. You get a wristband to enter the waterpark, however, I can see how easy it can be to pass your armband through the fence to let another one of your family members in. The water slides were the main attraction of the park, and apparently they smell of urine and "barn yard" when you make the climb up the stairs to get to the top. My husband told me the slide was very fun, however, the journey up was very unsanitary. There were LOTS of people there when we were there which made it very crowded and not so fun, so we left early. Rustlers Rooste was where we ate at that evening and that was a very family friendly country inspired restaurant with a live country band and a live bull outside. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant w/ a family if you stay at the resort b/c it is so close and transportation there can be arranged via the hotel. When my daughter gets older, we would definately come back to this resort b/c it is very kid friendly and it seems as if all the kids that visited this resort had a lot of fun.

Traveled to Arizona for business. From the moment we arrived at the Arizona Grand Resort to the moment we left we were met ... with nothing but first class service. At arrival we were whisked in and out for check in - brought directly to our parking spot and rooms. All the food at all the locations were nothing more then perfect. I will certainly stay again in the future.

Great place to stay with the family
Yoga mom Aug 25, 2009
The Arizona was easy to find even if you are an "out of towner." The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly, helpful and ... went out of their way to make things easier for our family. The bell man took us to our room with our small children with the golf cart, the woman at the desk "mapquested" my daughter's eye specialist in Glendale because we didnt know how to get there. We were even able to take the beverages out of the fridge so we could use it without being charged for items being moved---something we were charged for before in Vegas--total bummer considering we didnt even drink the beverage. The pool--or waterpark is awesome and provides an area for every age including little ones. We have 3 and 4 year old that loved the wading pool and we could read and relax nearby without freaking out about safety. There are lifeguards on staff and poolside service including munchies and alcohol (if that's your desire.) It is pretty pricey though so eat before you go to the pool! Especially feed the kids. It's hard to not get frustrated after you ordered a mediocre 4.50 plain hot dog and your kid takes one bite. Also, there is 3 other restaurants near by to choose from and great shopping nearby. It can get a little noisy around 9:30--when the waterpark closes with kids of all ages running amuk. So if you have little ones that go to bed early, make sure you have a room farther from the waterpark. You can always call the bellman to take you to the park if you please.

Beautiful setting not for relaxing
vacationer Jul 20, 2009
The resort is very pretty, but it is not for the 'need to get away' vacationer. When we arrived we were originally placed in ... the Sedona Suites which we learned later that night had 304 rooms filled with teenagers for a cheerleader camp. We were graciously moved to the Camelback Suites once we called the front desk and the party going on in the pool 4 floors below could be heard through the phone. The new suites were situated near the waterpark which proved a bit noisy as well and parking was so bad that they shuttled us to and from our car which we had to park in a completely different section of the resort. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfy. Unfortunately, I questioned the cleanliness when the kid's feet were black on the bottom after running around in the room barefoot for a few hours. The staff was polite and accommodating, and incredibly helpful with directions...we frequently got lost and disorientated in the resort. Everything did have it's price though. A bagel and oj ordered via room service ended up costing $15 with all the added fees. However, the milkshakes at the oasis water park were well worth it. All in all, it's a great place to bring kids, but not the most restful of vacations.

Serious warning to business travelers!!!
Where have all the good hotels gone Jun 24, 2009
While the hotel was very clean and comfortable, the excessive resort fees and poor quality in-room dining food ruined this ... experience. There is a $30 a day resort fee, mostly for the 4 tickets a day to the on-site water park. If you are traveling on business and will not be using the water park, this is a total rip off. These fees are charged for the day you check in as well - even if you check in too late to use the water park - if you were so inclined. They do not waive the resort fees, although a lot of hotels will. By the way, expect to pay $8.50 for a yogurt parfait. The food is very pricy. Avoid the in-room dining, which was so greasy that it was largely inedible. Now, if you were traveling with kids and made a point of eating off of the property, the water park would be an ok deal at $30.00 a day for four tickets. However, this is a poor choice for the business traveler.

Fabulous Getaway!
Girl Scout Leader & Mom May 30, 2009
From Scottsdale, we were 4 moms chaperoning 12 Girl Scouts for a two-day/one-night stay. We had an absolute blast! I don't ... think we could have picked a more suitable resort or a better time to go. We went mid-week, just after school ended which helped as it was not crowded at all. The rooms were great -- very comfortable for 1 mom and 3 girls per room. A separate living room was an added plus. All of us really enjoyed the pools, but especially the slides and the lazy river. There were enough shady areas too. The poolside service was fantastic as was the food -- really fast service! Finally, the location is great. Whether you're a local guest or from out of town, it's easy to get to. Plus, it's a 5-minute drive to the Arizona Mills Mall. Our excursion included dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe and a movie at the Harkins theatre. The only "bad" thing -- which is completely overshadowed by all the good things! -- was the pool decking. Ouch it was hot! Just be sure to wear your flip flops. Also, we were a bit disappointed that the breakfast buffet was only open on Saturday and Sundays. This would have been welcomed with our party of 16! Overall, our stay was fabulous. A great place for kids!

Choose this resort because of the pool/waterpark and our six-year-old certianly loved it. For an extra $15 my older son was ... able to bring one of his friends to the waterpark for the day, which wasn't bad. There was a smaller pool by our room that was open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. That was the only negative...people were in there from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day and it was noisy. I have been staying at this hotel for years and I have never had a bad experience; although, ... the newly built condos on the resort took away from some of my favorite pass times such as the tennis courts and the sandy volley ball courts. If you turn left out of the hotel and cross the busy street, you can get to a Subway for lunch. Also there is a grocery store to buy some snacks, lunch or breakfast items. I wouldn't do this with little kids, but we did it twice. Saved money on food with a hungry teenager. We moved the items out of the minibar and put milk etc in that. Didn't get charged. Best to walk in evening as it's hot!
