Quiet, relaxing resort
The room was clean and quiet. I only used the hotel to rest and sleep. I only encountered the staff at check-in. Otherwise I did not see any other staff during the stay.

Nothing GRAND about it!
This resort is ok ONLY if you want to be around a million kids. There was nothing relaxing about it - water park amenities were totally chaotic. Parts are closed throughout the day, not enough chairs or floats to go around, etc. It's hard to find one staff member over the age of 20, and we all know how 20 year olds communicate these days! You're lucky if you get one of them to grunt back at you.

Charge, charge, charge
I was in Phoenix for a seminar for 4 days. My room was good but it had the old small tv sets plus to get Internet there was an extra $15 charge per day. Also there was a $30 per night charge for resort fee which I did not know about when I booked the room and prepaid for it. Overall I was not happy with all these extra charges.

Good place for adolescents
Great location if you're more intersteed in Tempe, than Scottsdale. On the weekends this hotel becomes a fraternity party. The adults ruin it, not the kids. For the money, I'd try the Westin Kierland, or someplace nicer. also, the $30 surcharge doesn't cover internet as other people have commented on.

Great Family Escape
Our Stay was great for a Fathers Day weekend in town getaway. It was a great way to stay in town and not have to pack a lot ,but felt like we were in a whole new city. The staff was very nice and made us feel very welcome even the kids. The views were great our room over looked the water park. The only complaints is that we thought we booked a room that had a separate bedroom/living area but didn't get it. Other than the room not being what we wanted the stay was a weekend we will remember.

We had an hour wait at the Mexican restaurant Aunt Chiladas at the bottom of the resort. Next time we will just order pizza to the room, food was not worth the wait.

Facility excellent - expensive
Resort has many family-friendly amenities, including a small water park in the center of the property. However, food was VERY expensive and more suited to adult tastes. They've closed half of the previous restaurants, so now there are only 3 restaurants, 1 of which is only open for dinner. There is a daily "resort fee", which made the price quoted rather misleading. In addition, the hotel charged $14.95/day for wireless Internet connectivity, which you didn't learn about until you logged in. Resort literature never mentioned the charge, and in fact, implied it was free. The staff friendliness overall was good, but a bit inconsistent. Golf course is beautiful and in pretty good condition, but staffing was weak. No starter made getting off the tee on time almost impossible, and limited ranger presence made for a long round. Location itself was excellent. Close to the airport, and a mall close by. Car rental was available on site. Rooms were nice, but lacked microwaves or small refrigerators, clearly the purpose was to make you buy from the resort.

Very Nice Resort
This is a very nice resort and the service was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. I stayed there for a conference and did not have a chance to take advantage of the waterpark (which looked extremely fun)or the exercise room, so I wasn't wild about the mandatory $30/day resort fee that covers these activities. As an aside, the conference facilities were also very nice and well run. I would definately recommend and return.
