Outstanding Family Vacation

The resort was exactly what we needed for the family vacation. We had 2 small children ages 3 and 1, having the water park was what the kids really needed. They loved being in the water most of the day. We also enjoyed the food.

Childrens Museum in downtown Phoenix was really enjoyable for the children. Cost was a little high $11.00 per person but if you go early and make a day of it will be worth it.

Very Nice Place! Fun for the family

We love the Oasis Water Park but got rather busy and extremely crowedl. We spent a lot of time at the water park. I think it was so full of people that it got quite dirty and smelled. The price of food is very expensive. We rented a car and went to some other restaurants in the area.

Fantastic place for families

The trip was a graduation gift for our 17 year old granddaughter. She brought her two sisters, ages 15 and 10, with her and her 7 year old cousin. All the kids had a great time and found plenty of age-appropriate activities. The hotel is wonderful in what it provides to accommodate all ages. We had two adjoining suites, which was perfect. The beds are comfortable and with the front room living area, everyone had plenty of room for a nice enjoyable eveninig after time in the sun. The only downside we experienced was the movie in the pool experience. We have stayed at several hotels in the area, like the Fairmont Princess, that have movies in the pool. It is generally a fun time and part of the price you are paying while you are there. However, the Arizona Grand charges a $9 fee per person to watch the movie. We thought this was a little cheap of the hotel, given the cost we were already paying. Otherwise, it was a very nice week.

The dining is a bit limited and a little expensive at the hotel; however, there are all the usual eating places within minutes from the hotel gate, including grocery stores.

Not Really a 4-Star Resort

This is a very nice facility. My son and I had a lot of fun during our visit. I was surprised to learn (after my return) that it was a 4-star resort, however. Nice, comfortable, fun. Not 4-star. In my view a 4-star resort does not charge $5/minute to access long distance phone. A 4-star resort does not charge $15/day for access to internet. They are, after all, charging already a $30 resort fee per day over and above the room rate. These were charges that I thought were unnecessary and excessive. On the upside, The connected waterpark was fun, especially if you have smaller kids, and I thought the concierge was outstanding; secondary hotel staff was a bit wanting (3 calls to unstop a toilet; an unfulfilled promise to replace a TV remote; spotty maid service). All in all, it was a good stay; a few things took me by surprise. Considering those, I will probably look elsewhere next time. It's a nice place, just go in with your eyes open.
