Not Really a 4-Star Resort

This is a very nice facility. My son and I had a lot of fun during our visit. I was surprised to learn (after my return) that it was a 4-star resort, however. Nice, comfortable, fun. Not 4-star. In my view a 4-star resort does not charge $5/minute to access long distance phone. A 4-star resort does not charge $15/day for access to internet. They are, after all, charging already a $30 resort fee per day over and above the room rate. These were charges that I thought were unnecessary and excessive. On the upside, The connected waterpark was fun, especially if you have smaller kids, and I thought the concierge was outstanding; secondary hotel staff was a bit wanting (3 calls to unstop a toilet; an unfulfilled promise to replace a TV remote; spotty maid service). All in all, it was a good stay; a few things took me by surprise. Considering those, I will probably look elsewhere next time. It's a nice place, just go in with your eyes open.

Great Staff

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was there for a conference, and was stuck in the conference rooms all day. The hotel looked very nice by night however. I was booked for a King suite, of which they had none when I got there. I got 2 queen beds. With my head agains the head board, by feet still hung off the end (I'm only 6'1")..... bed wasnt too comfortable.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a mall within walking distance, several decent restaurants as well. I would recommend against room service. Its available only when the on sight restaurant is open anyway... and you end up paying way more to get it to your room.... way more!

"4 star resort that met the hype!!!!"

My 17 year old son golfed for 4 days while I spent time at the various pools(especially the 21/over spa club pool area) and had an amazing spa massage experience. We spent time in the Oasis waterpark as well which was great for the hot days. The resort was beautiful and very well maintained and the staff very friendly and helpful. All of the food venues were excellent in choices, prices, and service. Our whole expereince was wonderful and I only have praise and would recommend the resort to singles, married couples, and families alike. Can't say enough great things!

disappointing

While the staff was very nice the rooms were dirty and had holes in bedding. The automatic resort fee which was undisclosed on [...]was high at $30 per room per night. Also food was very overpriced at water park. The place felt like a bait and switch with lower room rates and then all the extras

Great family vacation

Great waterpark for kids and adults. Enjoyed having the family movie dive-in (family movies played over the waterpark at night) as a fun thing to do for free at night with kids. Other pools besides the waterpark were nice as well. My daughter enjoyed having the Kids Camp to attend for extra entertainment. The food is a little expensive but luckily there are many fast-food and regular restaurants close by. Spectacular golf course! Able to rent mountain bikes for near-by mountain trail ride or just walk, too.

Honest Opinion

We stayed at this hotel during baseball spring training so we could attend several games. The location wasn't ideal for stadiums on the west side but traffic was never a big problem. The service and amenities were good. Everything was clean and in good working order. Food was good and there was plenty to do between baseball games. The only downside is price. The room rates are high to begin with and then you get dinged for resort fees and Internet access.
