The Biltmore is an oasis in the middle of the desert. Because the hotel is based on a Frank L. Wright design, the decor is ... rather stark. With all that concrete, we feared the Phoenix 115 degree heat would make our stay uncomfortable. However, our time there was delightful. The location is spectacular, the grounds are impeccable and the restaurant food delicious. The pool was relaxing and refreshing.

A beauty showing her age...
workaholic Oct 11, 2009
Was really looking forward to visiting this historic hotel and taking in the sights created with FL Wright's influences. ... Arrived too late to see anything, room was chilled to a freezing temp when we entered but the bed was comfortable, with great linens. The marble counter top in the BR had a huge crack behind the faucet that had been poorly covered and was now dark with mildew. No exhaust fan in the BR so the room was foggy from the shower. Woke up at 2am to the sound of loud sceeching very drunk women below our third floor window. After enduring for 15 minutes, called the front desk and asked them to send someone by to quiet the party down. After another hour with no reprieve, called the front again and spoke with the assistant manager. He was very nice, but I couldn't believe something hadn't been done an hour earlier. What a huge disapoinment. will not go back.

Biltmore, Still the Best

At first I was a little concerned after hearing how old the resort was, but boy was I corrected. Still very classy, updated ... rooms and grounds. We loved the large rooms, amazingly comfy bed and sheets, and most of all all the really cool pools! We ate at the new restaurant there (can't remember the name) and it was very good. From the bread and dipping sauces to my pork chop that was very moist and tender with great flavor. I would definitely stay there again!

Most relaxing resort ever
Dannyboy Sep 17, 2009
This was the most peaceful resort. We had a poolside patio room and it was so comfortable. Also, since it was Phoenix's off ... season, the value at this hotel in September was phenomenal. The architecture of the entire property along with the perfectly manicured grounds is beyond anything I had ever seen. Even though the property was not that busy due to the season, it seemed like the property was maintained beautifully in the same way, busy or not. PS...the prime rib at the restaurant was delicious

The Frank Lloyd Wright Winter home (Taliesin West) is a must see. It is approximately a 20 minute drive and the tour is worth the drive for any architecture buff.

The hotel is beautiful. It would have been nice to know that on request a coffee pot could be brought to your room at no ... charge. The pools are gorgeous & the staff made sure we were comfortable. There is a shuttle service to the mall. Great dining close to the hotel. Hotel dining is very expensive but the food is good.

Beautiful resort/spa and ideal for our conference. However, the resort could have been more accommodating to extend their ... shuttle services in the evening. In term of conveniency, would have been great if retail stores, restautants are nearby within walking distance. Especially with Arizona weather. Overall, i give Arizona Biltmore a 4.0.

Parking is very far away from rooms, especially for those with disabilities (even valet lot). When having a "handicapped ... room" the guest relations staff should inquire as to the need for a roll-in shower vs. a tub-shower w/handrails. Ice machines should be more available and abundant.

Fabulous, Relaxing Getaway
Lynne Jul 20, 2009
Once we got "in the bubble" at the Arizona Biltmore it felt like another world! Spacious, clean quiet room. Excellent ... restaurant and service. Fun pool. Golf, hiking fabulous spa! Something for everyone in our family! There is great onsite shopping and a large shopping complex nearby. Centrally located, a visitor can easily experience some of Phoenix's finest restaurants and activities right out the door of the Biltmore. However, the Biltmore takes very good care of its guests and can arrange anything you want!

Excellent shopping is a short walk from the Biltmore and the walk is through a gorgeous neighborhood! You may want to call the Biltmore for a pickup though!

AZ Biltmore Wonderful
Dry Heat Jul 8, 2009
Our stay at the AZ Biltmore was nice and relaxed! We stayed over the 4th of July and they had a number of activities for all ... ages. Bed was cozy and room was large, lots of space. What I am not pleased with is how Orbitz places in very small print the extra charges you may accrue from the hotel. I booked expecting a great deal when I could have stayed an extra night with the resort fees and parking the hotel billed me for at check out. In fact they charged an additional $100 dollars over the bill and I am still awaiting those fees to drop off. Totally not satisfied with this piece of communication from both parts Orbitz and the Biltmore. May just be better off booking directly through the hotel and communicating with the staff that way you won't leave with any surprises!

For the most part, the Biltmore is a lovely old world Hotel. Our room was very clean and the staff helpful. The only drag ... was that on top of the $28.00 resort fee they had the nerve to charge $12.00 for self parking. Why not just charge the extra $40.00 and be honest? I'm just not sure what I was getting for that money. Have lots of money if you plan to have cocktails.

I found a great deal for this hotel on Orbtiz. I paid for this weekend away on Orbitz. When I checked into the hotel the ... front desk told me that all fees/rates were paid and they only needed my credit card information in case something happened to the room. Then on the day of check-out, a slip was slid under the door that stated additional charges were already charged to my credit card..."processing fees" and "resort fees" that I thought were already paid on Orbtiz. Not impressed with the hotel or with the Orbitz site.
